One of the best things about autumn is that it's not as cold as winter. The air is cool and it can get pretty windy most of the time, but you don't have to cover your kids in loads of layers just yet. A cool cardigan—the more colorful, the better—is enough to keep your kids warm outside. They'll love it too because it won't restrict them all that much, even if you go for thick wooly ones. In fact, these work best because they're are practically sweaters; they can still wear it when winter comes as well. And when they go to school, they can always sport them over their school uniforms.
Don't underestimate your kids when it comes to fashion. Most especially now that they're more exposed to social media, they might already know how they want to look without you telling them. So don't be afraid to get them more fashionable pieces, especially the basic ones. A good example is a trench coat. Many kids are sporting them nowadays and they're just as comfortable as they are cool and trendy. And if stylish Parisians are wearing it during the season—in the fashion capital, no less!—what's stopping your little ones from sporting it as well? They might know more about style than you think!

Do you also know what's hip to wear these days? Puffer jackets! The once-boring winter garment has become a style staple among the streetwear crowd. Even big-name celebrities are pairing it up with their own designer clothing! And the best part? It will keep your kids nice and warm. However, don't go for the extra puffy ones. After all, autumn can be cold but a pair of tights is enough to keep your little ones from freezing and catching a cold. You can even go for striped or polka-dotted tights for a cuter look.
Button-Up The Boys
What about boys? What do they get to wear during autumn? A nice button-up shirt will do! A flannel might even look cooler, making them look all tough and manly like a lumberjack. The lumberjack look is very trendy during autumn and there's no reason your little boy can't get in on all the fun. Surely, they'd appreciate looking like a grown-up too, all buttoned-up and everything, even though they'll just run around and jump on piles fo leaves. At the very least, it'd be easy to dress them up before they go outside. Just fasten a few buttons and it's done!
The beanie look will always look cute during autumn. Most especially if you put them on your little babies. They're probably already onesies to keep them warm, but you can always help them accessorize with an adorable beanie hat. It's easy to put on and will definitely keep your little one warm and toasty. And when you put them on your toddlers, at least the garment's simple shape won't feel too heavy on their heads. They might even forget that they were wearing it when they're having so much fun outside. Such is the power of the beanie!
Your kids aren't kittens, you don't have to give them mittens! These days, gloves are the way to go. Mittens will only restrict your kids when they play outside while gloves can keep their hands warm without bothering them all that much. Autumn is as fashionable a season for kids as it is for adults. You can dress them up in many stylish ways that can keep them looking trendy, feeling warm and toasty, and allow them enough agency to have fun playing outside! You just have to know which pieces to get!
