Here's one question many planning to visit or move to Paris would want to be answered—is there peace in Paris? The French capital is, no doubt, one of, if not the busiest cities in the world. It's a central business and finance hub, a capital city for food and fashion, as well as an academic and art scholar's paradise. There's so much going on around here that it almost seems impossible to have some peace and quiet in the city. But it's not! It is possible to have that and more! Just take a look at the Épinettes district.
It's Completely Underrated
If you haven't heard of Épinettes, you're not alone! It's safe to say that this part of the city isn't exactly what you often hear mentioned in any
movie or
TV series set in Paris. But it's possible you've seen it from such mediums though! After all, every corner, every area, and every neighborhood of Paris is beautiful in its own right. And the Épinettes is no exception! No one can deny it's one of the more underrated districts in the city, but many might even like that because of it. Underrated residential homes,
underrated tourist spots—for a lot of people, 'underrated' simply means 'quiet.'

A Peaceful Part of Paris
Speaking of quiet, this pretty much means that Épinettes is also one of the more peaceful
neighborhoods of Paris. And for a lot of people, it's more than enough to convince them to move here! After all, in a city like Paris, a peaceful area, whilst common, is still a treasure worth investing in. It's no every day that this district is dead-silent, but it's a lot more serene than most other arrondissements, that's for sure! As fun as it is to live with the hustle and bustle of the French capital, there are those who prefer to go home to somewhere less noisy and more relaxing!

A Quieter Square Epinettes
Since Épinettes is generally a peaceful area, that means even the square here, Square Épinettes, isn't the busiest
in the bunch as well. And before you conclude that this must mean that this place is boring, think again! Sure, a quiet park may mean that it doesn't have as many exciting things to offer, but that doesn't make Square Épinettes any less worthy to visit. For one thing, the serenity of the place makes for a great date place, one where you can meet up and cuddle up to your significant other without being disturbed nor disturbing anyone as well.

The Very Fun Square des Batignolles
If you do prefer a more fun park to visit on your free time, there's always the Square des Batignolles! With vast patch of land that even includes a colorful carousel, it's the type of park that you'd want to take your entire family to! Imagine it—you're taking a nice brisk walk (or working out
a'la Emily Cooper!) while the kids are riding the carousel or watching a puppet show. Sounds like the ideal family day in Paris, right? The type you've seen in movies? Well, this sort of scene is a lot more common in real life than you think!

A Culinary Paradise
As the Épinettes district is still part of Paris, of course, you should expect some
top-notch restaurants here! One worth noting is
Coretta, a French diner located along Rue Cardinet. A very hip place where you'll find more students and yuppies (young professionals) than old-timers, its traditional French cuisine continues to add to its popularity. Meanwhile,
Café Otto is the type of modern and sleek coffee shop that signals a new wave of cafés in the city. It's definitely one worth going to for breakfast or when you just need a
hot cup of coffee to perk you right up!

A Whole Lot of Bars
Though restaurants and cafés aren't the only establishments to expect in the Épinettes district! There are also a lot of bars here, making it quite the lively nightlife spot in the city. While it's mostly peaceful during the day, at night, a few hotspots in the neighborhood light up and become the go-to places for a drink, a chat, and a whole lot of fun! The famous
Octopussy bar is located here, right along Rue de La Jonquière! There's also
L'ébéniste du Vin - Bar et cave à Vin which is worth checking out too!
