Riding your bike in Paris. It almost sounds too cliche, doesn't it? Like something straight out of a movie? Well, it can't be helped! Many people do ride their bikes all around the French capital. Some do it for fun. Some do it as a form of exercise. Some do it during their date. Some actually do it as a mode of public transportation! Despite all that, while most of Paris is already scenic and stunning, there are a few places that you really ought to cycle by while you're at it. You might find your new favorite place when you pass by them on your bike!
Canal Saint-Martin
The beauty of Paris is distinctly different from that of Amsterdam. However, there is a place within the city where you'll be reminded of the charming Dutch capital: Canal Saint-Martin. Located in the
10th arrondissement, this scenic canal is lined by old houses, colorful trees, and even a bridge for passers-by to cross. The area looks pretty, peaceful, and a little bit brighter than most, far from the brooding vibe of the banks along the Seine River. Riding your bike here would be a great way to see a different side of Paris, one that's quieter and humble than the other
districts of the city.

Forêt de Sevran
When you have a free day in Paris and don't know what to do, you can always take your bike and ride it throughout Forêt de Sevran. This park is far from the
other parks in the city. It's more in touch with nature than the manicured gardens and outdoor art galleries that the other parks virtually are. Think acres of woodland with trails that narrow down as if you're about to get lost. A scenic river where you can be even more at peace than you can ever be along the Seine River. And, if you're lucky, you might even see a little critter or two here too!

Parc de Bercy
If you prefer a more familiar Parisian park setting but without the big crowds, Parc de Bercy is always a good option. Though well-manicured like the rest of them, there are fewer distractions here than in the other parks. In fact, the very symmetric organization of the place is what will make you want to cycle around here more than what you'll see. It's the type of place where you ride your bike for the sake of activity and exercise, not necessarily because you want to see flowers and sculptures and whatnot. Though they have a couple of them here as well, don't worry!

Place de la République
Now, what about the public spaces of Paris? Which one should you ride your bike? Place de la République is a great area for cycling! Though it can get busy here so do try to be careful! Nevertheless, there's a reason why rental
apps would often choose this place as a pick-up area for their bikes. Wide and open, it's quite a historic point in Paris, one where it has seen its fair share of protests, demonstrations, rallies, and the like. Not to mention it's central to three different arrondissements: the
3rd,
10th, and
11th!

Trocadéro Gardens
Finally, when talking about places to ride your bike in Paris, you can't forget about the
Trocadéro Gardens. Located right smack
in front of the Eiffel Tower, the city's most famous monument, you wouldn't be able to resist cycling through this famous area whilst in Paris. Whether you have to go somewhere that's along this way or your just leisurely riding your bike throughout the city, passing by this place and seeing the iconic tower, even for just a moment, will have you proud to actually be in the French capital yourself! Just make sure you watch out for the thousands of people walking and driving by!
