'
I love Paris in the springtime,' the great Ella Fitzgerald once sung. She's got a point! Though the French capital is undoubtedly beautiful no matter what season it is, there's really nothing like springtime to really remind you just how enchanting this city. The flowers are in full bloom, the weather is just right, and it just feels like everything around you is so lovely and full of life. If you had a particularly cold and dreary winter, Paris in the spring will perk you right up! But to be more specific, here are some reasons why the city is just so incredible during this season.

Get Excited for Easter
As France is largely a Roman Catholic country, Easter Sunday is one of the most important holidays here. All throughout the city, there are countless celebrations to commemorate the Risen Christ. Some of the most notable are the stunning classical music concerts in various churches, namely in Sainte-Chapelle on Boulevard du Palais and La Madeleine Church on the
8th arrondissement. You can listen to the iconic works of Vivaldi, Bach, and more. And don't worry, such events are open to non-Catholics too!

The Louvre,
Musée d’Orsay, and the
Grand Palais. These are just some of
Paris' most famous museums that, every Spring (starting in May specifically), you can tour even at night. This is thanks to the annual event, Nuit des Musées. Normally, most galleries in the city would start closing down by 6:00 pm but not when Nuit des Musées is going on. During this time, you can see all of Paris' most iconic artworks, most notable pieces, and the like after dark. And the best part, they're all free of charge!

neighborhood in Paris they are, would often cost you less than going to a standard store. You might even get some nice rare finds there! Whether it's food, clothes, antiques, toys, or more, Paris' open street markets are places where you'll definitely end up buying something fascinating!

Music All Around!
While you're already out and about, why not take time to listen to music? During winter, it was likely too cold for artists to spend time out on the streets. The same goes for musicians too! But now that spring has finally arrived, You'll hear violins, accordions, trumpets, tambourines, and more playing again as you stroll along the beautiful arrondissement of the French capital. The liveliness they put forth, as well as the beautiful music, are part of what makes Paris in springtime so lovely! Spare some change for them when you encounter one!

Go To Villette Sonique
Speaking of music, Paris holds an annual music festival every May (often the peak of springtime here) at Parc de la Villette: the Villette Sonique festival. A whole slew of rock bands, indie artists, and electronic DJs turn the party up, making for a great musical alternative to listen to in the French capital. This is also one of the biggest music festivals held in Paris every year. So if you're over the classical music from Easter or tried of the folk tunes that you normally hear in
movies set in Paris, this Villette Sonique is the perfect antidote!

many beautiful parks in Paris, you almost couldn't decide where to start right? Most especially in spring when the flowers have bloomed, the weather is sunny and bright, and the air smells its sweetest. But again, where will you decide to go? As already mentioned, Parc de la Villette is a great place since there's a music festival there. But also because it's a more modern park than the city's most famous. public transportation in Paris? You can take your own two-wheeler out for a spin or rent one via a
transportation app. Either way, you wouldn't want to waste your precious time stuck amidst the crowds in the metro or fighting off other computers for the nearest taxi. By cycling your way around Paris, you not only get to enjoy the city in full bloom but get in some much-needed exercise too!

Seek A Hideaway
Now, let's do something a little bit unique! It's highly likely that spring will see most, if not all of Paris' top tourist attractions crowded like crazy. And while spring isn't exactly the hottest season of the year, getting stuck amidst thousands of tourists and locals alike would still feel uncomfortable! So why not go somewhere unpopular? Paris has
a ton of underrated hotspots that not a lot of people visit even when it's springtime. Be it an old district with its own unique charm or an
unorthodox museum, going there in the spring is a pretty neat idea!
