For most people, Sardinia is a beautiful collection of beaches. The Italian island is known for its stunning shorelines, postcard-ready seaside sands, and picturesque scenes. They're the type you'll see on social media, covered in travel lifestyle TV shows, and featured in luxury publications. And with so many of them there, you wouldn't know where to start! Well, though all of Sardinia's beaches are beautiful, there are some that are a cut above the rest. The waters are calmer, the sands are whiter, the sun shines so brightly, it's almost unreal! Here are the top tend beaches in Sardinia.
Cala Brandinchi
Known as 'Sardinia's Tahiti,' Cala Brandinchi beach in San Teodoro attracts tourists and locals alike. The shallow waters are a welcome sight after one has braved through the sand dunes or the pine forest that surround the beach. And with its stark white sands and calm shallow waters, it's no wonder this place is compared to the more popular destination, Tahiti. But Cala Brandinchi is a natural treasure all its own, a peaceful escape where snorkeling and sunbathing are the names of the game!

Cala Goloritzè
In the beautiful commune of Baunei in Sardinia, Cala Goloritzè continually attracts beach-goers even when it's off-season. Those in need of some 'Vitamin Sea' won't help but be drawn into the shallow coast, where turquoise sea waters clash with the freshwater river located nearby. The transparent sea makes it a safe shoreline for even the little ones to splash around in. And though it's a challenge to
get here, once you see the serenity of the place, you'll know that all your efforts weren't in vain!

Costa Smeralda
You're aware of the saying, 'beauty comes with a price,' right? Well, when it comes to Sardinia, there's one place that it perfectly applies to: Costa Smeralda. This stunning beach is lined with five-star resorts, luxury villas, expensive homes, and the like. In fact, the common way to get here is to rent a yacht or go on a pricey ferry ride. Needless to say, however, every cent you pay to stay here will be worth it. This relatively small 100-meter stretch of sand offers a luxurious sanctuary from the rest of the world.

Costa Sud
Since it's close to Cagliari, the capital
city of Sardinia, Costa Sud is easier to get to than most beaches on this list. And that's a good thing too because, although the headlands here seem daunting, the beaches they hide are quite the spectacle. Clear sands and seas make for an incredible day for swimming here, whether you snorkel to see aquatic life or laze around on giant floaties. Since the sandy expanse is rather large, you can even do all sorts of water and beach sports here too!

Costa Verde
More often than not, what makes a beach so beautiful isn't the white sand or the calm waters. It's the peace and serenity of the place. And this rings true with Costa Verde the most. Since it's relatively untouched and the least commercialized shoreline on this list, this is where you can really escape the rest of the world. Even if you walk for miles, you won't see a single hotel, resort, restaurant, or even a single beach umbrella. It'll be just you, the sands, and the sea! What's not to love?

Though it boasts a ton of other beaches, its stunning coves are second to none. they provide the right shelter, silence, and scene for a truly wonderful vacation. Of course, the clear waters won't stand to be overshadowed as well!

transportation app to get here. Once you do, you'll instantly see the famous tower that many have swam to, explored, and eventually took snapshots of for Instagram.

Porto Giunco
Do you know what's so worthwhile about Porto Giunco? You can choose to either swim in salty seawater or in a freshwater pond. A beautiful stretch of soft, white sand is the only thing that separates the Mediterranean sea from the Notteri pond, making for a great place to splash around, build sandcastles, hold a picnic, and more. If you're lucky, you might even get to spot the beautiful pink flamingos that drink water here! Now that's a sight you won't want to miss!

Porto Istana
Oftentimes, the colors of the sea range from bright aquamarine to a gentle turquoise or teal. However, here in Porto Istana, the clear waters show off a sightly emerald hue, sparkling against the sun like a real jewel. Such a view is so beautiful, you almost don't want to get in as it may disrupt its jewel-like sheen. But once you feel that the sun shining down on you has gotten a little too much, you'll want to splash around and submerge yourself in the clear and cool waters here.

Su Giudeu
As the largest beach on this list, Su Giudeu in Chia has become a huge favorite among tourists in Sardinia. Who wouldn't love to dive into the cool waters here after they've passed through the humongous sand dunes that stand as high as 20 meters? After going through that strenuous journey, the clear seawater would feel so refreshing, you'll almost want to drink it. However, swimming and splashing around in it is good enough. Since the area is rather wide, you'll have an easier time finding the perfect peaceful spot here too!
