Bellagio

With a name that literally translates to 'nice place to stay,' of course Bellagio would be one of the most beautiful towns of Lake Como. You can argue that it's the quintessential Lake Como commune—a lakeside charmer made up of nostalgic streets, beautiful homes, and stunning flora to match. All of these sound great for an Instagram snapshot, don't they? The type that even if your shot isn't the most flattering, the image will still turn out as beguiling as ever. When you remember Lake Como, Bellagio is probably what you're picturing in your head.

Another Lake Como town worth capturing for Instagram is Varenna. Bursting with color, this fishing village off the eastern shore of the lake continues to captivate both locals and tourists alike. And why wouldn't it? The brightly-hued homes, the opulent villas, the historic ruins, the charming alfresco restaurants, and the cobblestone streets are all surrounded by magnificent flora that the Lombardy region is known for. Every corner of this place practically begs to be photographed and posted online. With such beauty, it's no surprise as well that Varenna is also one of the most romantic spots in all of Lake Como.

Sentiero del Viandante

An enchanting walkway always makes for a great snapshot. And here in Lake Como, why not capture one that also has some historic value to it? There's only one place that fits this description: Sentiero del Viandante. This 45-kilometer stretch used to be an important trade route for merchants who traveled from Milan to Switzerland and back. Nowadays, however, it's simply a stunning path lined with chestnut trees, forested slopes, and offers stunning views of the lake and even a few glimpses of the Swiss Alps. Surely, any shot from all sorts of vantage points will make for a great Instagram post!

Orrido di Bellano

Instagram shots of and on bridges have certainly proven to be effective, hasn't it? There's just something about bridges that capture people's attention, especially if it's against a stunning backdrop. Here in Lake Como, one such place is Orrido di Bellano. The beautiful waterfalls, located right beside the Bellano commune, show the region's natural beauty in all its glory. And all you have to do to see them up close is to go on the beautiful stone bridge that connects the falls to the town. The sight of the bridge itself is already marvelous, what more if you take a closer look of the waterfalls?

The Civera Bridge

Speaking of bridges, another worth capturing is the Civera Bridge. Just like the one by Orrido di Bellano, this bridge also has waterfalls as a backdrop, the only difference is the latter has a lot more space. And arguably, if you truly want to capture Lake Como's fairytale-like charm, the Civera Bridge is your best shot! Situated between two corners of a charming town, with forest waterfalls in the background, the place practically looks like a scene from a Disney movie. That's how incredibly beautiful the spot is! It'd be a shame if you don't capture it!
