What do you know most about Santorini? What automatically comes to your mind when you hear its name? The whitewashed houses? Sure. The blue domes that you see from a mile away? Yeah. The lively Greek locals? They're the best part, aren't they? But of course, the island's coasts are also such major highlights. There are a ton in Santorini, from popular beaches to remote paradises. But among all of them, here are five that are arguably the most beautiful. Make sure you don't miss seeing them when you get here!
Red Beach
Arguably the most famous beach in all of Santorini, the Red Beach near the prehistoric city of Akrotiri is truly a natural wonder. Marvel at the glorious burgundy-tinted coastline and volcanic rocks that contrast well against the turquoise Aegean Sea. When you see it from a mile away, doesn't it make for a great snapshot for social media? Or even a picture worth putting on a postcard! As for swimming here, the small shoreline makes it less popular for most tourists. But if you don't mind the cramped space, you can still enjoy your time snorkeling and scuba-diving here.

Perissa
Santorini doesn't just have a Red Beach, it also has a 'Black Beach' too! Although this coast is more commonly known as Perissa beach, located near its eponymous seaside village. The beach got its moniker thanks to its ash-like shoreline—the result of the volcanic eruptions that formed Santorini island. Today, Perissa beach has become one of the most popular and commercialized beaches on the island. Lined with sunbeds, beach bars, and a myriad of water sports, it's the type of place where you can spend a fun day with friends and family.

Eros Beach
Another dark-colored beach worth going to in Santorini is Eros Beach, located near the quaint village of Vlychada. Since it's in the southern part of the island, it may be challenging to
get here. But that's also what makes the trip worth it! In Greek mythology, 'Eros' refers to the god of love and the name couldn't be more fitting for this secluded shoreline. Thanks to how remote it is, Eros beach serves as the perfect spot for a romantic rendezvous. You can get as intimate as you want and no one will spot you from a mile away!

Vourvoulos
Now, if you want a secluded coast that's a little wider than Eros beach, head on over to Vourvoulos beach! This white expanse of pebbly sands, white rocks, and deep blue ocean waves are perfect for those who want the beach all to themselves. And even if there are other people on the beach too, you can still move further and grab a spot that’s far enough to feel equally secluded. Do note, however, that this means there are no establishments in the area as well. So when you plan to go here, make sure you bring your own snacks, drinks, and more yourself!

Kamari Beach
Finally, there's Kamari Beach. Set by the village of Kamari, which is near Fira, the main
central city of Santorini, this coast offers the best of both worlds. The beach is wide enough that you can still get a semi-private spot, the next best thing to spending the day on a secluded beach. However, Kamari Beach is also a heavily commercialized area, complete with umbrella-shaded sunbeds, seaside cafes, beach bars, and the like. So in terms of refreshments, you're all good! Furthermore, the area also has ample trees to let you enjoy a more natural shade!
