You’ll arrive in paradise, either by air or water. Most people use commercial flights because it’s the quickest, easiest and often cheapest way to get there. A number of international airlines have regularly scheduled international flights into the neighbouring island of St. Martin, where you can pick up a connecting flight from a local company. Gustave III Airport is located just a five minute drive from the capital of Gustavia. There is also a daily ferry boat from St. Martin to St. Barts and if you’re travelling in a group you could also charter a private speedboat. So now you’ve landed… the fun can start.

To see the island at its best and explore every nook and cranny, we recommend you hire a car. For more practical advice, our guide to visiting St Bart’s will explain everything. Once you’ve got your car, you’re ready to start exploring.
Start off in the capital of Gustavia. This small port town is a charming place to wonder around and you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to retail therapy. Many of the best shops in Saint Barthelemy are here. If you like the idea of staying in the centre of the action then take a look at the best luxury villas in Gustavia to see if one takes your fancy.

After an afternoon at the beach, you’re surely ready for a cocktail so make your way to one of the best beach bars in St Bart’s to enjoy a Pina Colada as the sun goes down. Nikki Beach or the bar at Eden Rocks are two of the most glamorous addresses on the island and are both in the lively area of St Jean. This is one of the best areas to stay in St Barth thanks to its plethora of restaurants and bars. Now all that’s left to do is dance the night away with the rich and famous.

Nothing cures a hangover like sea water, so head straight for the beach and get ready to dive right in. There are so many water sports in Saint Barthelemy that you’ll be spoilt for choice, but we recommend snorkelling or stand up paddle boarding to get a taste for how the locals live. Head to Flammands Bay for clear, shallow waters and powdery sand. After a morning of adventure, you’ll be ready for something more relaxing.

This is a holiday after all, so a relaxing afternoon at the spa will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to return to the real world. Book yourself in to one of the best spas in Saint Barthelemy and enjoy a massage or facial with the sound of waves lapping at the sand.

All that pampering has probably worked up an appetite. We recommend making a reservation at La Gloriette, in the exclusive neighbourhood of Grand Cul De Sac. This mouth-watering restaurant is one of the best restaurants in St Bart’s and is characterised by it’s French Creole cuisine. At La Gloriette you’ll find the best accras on the island which is a famous Creole dish served all over Saint Barth. It’s simply salt cod fritters served in a spicy sauce and you can enjoy it with your toes in the sand at this beach-side eatery.
