The Finest Beaches in Paros

Among many others, Greece is best known for its stunning beaches. With its collection of islands scattered throughout the Mediterranean, it's only natural that some of the most beautiful coasts in the world come from this country. A good example is the island of Paros. One of the lesser-known Cyclades islands, this paradise has a lot to offer in terms of its majestic shorelines. Some have become popular over the years while others remain untouched, preserving their natural glory. And among the several beaches in Paros, there are ten that you simply must see with your own eyes.

The Finest Beaches in Paros

Kolymbithres

The most popular beach in Paros is Kolymbithres. Known for its granite rock formations that make it look like you're swimming in the moon, it's a stunning coast of the southern Aegean Sea. And speaking of the sea, its waters are as clear as day. As you splash around the shoreline, you can practically see the little fishes and other sea critters swimming about. Kolymbithres beach is definitely a must-see, especially on a sunny day. It's easy to get to from Naoussa, one of the central towns of Paros, so you'll have no problem going here.

Ambelas

Peace and serenity are what make Ambelas beach so popular among locals and tourists alike. The scenic fishing village isn't as crowded as all the other towns on the island so when it comes to its beach, you have a vast expanse of sand and sea that's practically all to yourself. Make sure you bring everything you'll need because, apart from a couple of coastal taverns here and there, you won't see any commercial establishment for miles. And that's the best part about it!

Chrissi Akti

Also known as the 'Golden Coast,' the golden sand and the golden tones of twilight in Chrissi Akti truly live up to its name. However, what has really made this beach one of the most popular in Paros is that it's the best place for windsurfing. That's right, there really is more to Greek beaches than just its white sands that are perfect for lazying around. The winds at Chrissi Akti serve as the best arena for windsurfers to fly as high as they can!

Santa Maria

Speaking of watersports, you can do them at Santa Maria beach as well. Located by the harbor of Naoussa, this coast has become the go-to shoreline for the young and young-at-heart to do all sorts of fun activities. There's windsurfing, as already mentioned, but also traditional surfing, water-skiing, scuba-diving, snorkeling, and more. Its general cosmopolitan vibe, thanks to the series of bars, taverns, and restaurants that line the beach, invites families to come and have a fun day here as well.

Monastiri

Another lively beach you ought not to miss in Paros is Monastiri beach. Though it likely got its name from the St. Jon Monastery that's located near the coast, the beach itself is part of Paros Park, a free environmental nature park and one of the biggest on the island. Since it's free to go here, most families tend to choose this beach for a fun day under the sun. Every summer, you'll also find that Monastiri beach hosts a ton of events, ranging from beach parties to free concerts and more. If you didn’t know any better, you'd think this was in Ibiza or something!

Faragas

Sometimes, all you want is something in-between. Not necessarily a remote beach where you won't find any convenient establishment for miles but still one where you can relax without having to face a ton of crowds. A perfect example of that is Faragas beach. On the southern coast of Paros island, three small cove beaches make up the Faragas coast. Out of the three, the main beach has a beach bar where you can rent umbrellas and beach beds. But if you want a shoreline that's all to your own, you can always escape to the other two!

Molos

Another good example of a convenient yet peaceful beach in Paros? Molos beach! Offering up a pristine coastline that has remained largely untouched for centuries, this is the perfect beach for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The sands are soft, the waves are calming, and the view of Naxos island is as breathtaking as ever! And if you ever get hungry, the nearby taverns will gladly serve up some delectable Paros dishes that you won't want to miss.

Livadia

In the peaceful village of Parikia, Paros, the stunning Livadia beach is just a short walk away. And while it's located near the town's beach port, the shoreline itself remains clean and pristine for locals and visitors to enjoy. Sure, there are a few beach clubs, beach bars, coastal taverns, and more on-site, but overall, the place is a peaceful yet lively beach. You can even rent a boat and sail away to your heart's content. What's not to love about that?

Piperi

Don't think that just because Piperi beach is the nearest coast to the bustling town of Naoussa that it's too crowded a beach to visit. It's not that bad here! In fact, the beach is so vast, you can still secure a semi-private spot and you'll still feel like you're the only one there. So no, don't think that Piperi beach's close proximity to Naoussa is what pulls this coastline down. On the contrary, if you're staying in the town yourself, and thanks to the public transport here, you can go to this beach as many times as you want!

Lageri

Finally, there's Lageri beach! Do you remember the pink sandy beaches in Crete? Well, Lageri beach is the closest you'll find to that type of natural wonder on Paros island. While the shoreline itself isn't as pink as those in Crete, you can't deny that it has a rosy glow about it that's close enough. And since Lageri beach is a remote coast, you can enjoy basking in its Mediterranean glory until the pink tones of twilight really turn it all pink!

On Paros Island, one of the more remote Cyclades islands of Greece, a ton of stunning beaches and ethereal coastlines await. You'll find that these paradises truly are worth seeing at least once while you're here!

Hopefully, you can get a luxury home that's near any of these amazing Paros beaches! Good luck finding one!
