La Grande Arche in La Défense

Just outside Paris you’ll find La Grande Arche in La Défense. It will only take roughly 20 minutes to get to on the Metro Line 1 and it’s well worth the journey. Every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, the rooftop ice skating rink is open to the public, providing sweeping views of all of the capital’s most iconic landmarks and a unique opportunity to skate on top of a roof. The rink here is synthetic so means it won’t melt if the temperatures doesn’t drop and you’ll stay dry even if you take a tumble. There’s also a Christmas market here if you need to pick up some last minute gifts.
