Hydra is just as picturesque an island as the rest of them. It might not be the most popular destination Greece offers, but that doesn't mean it lacks natural beauty, historic charm, and the like. If you're one to travel and document what you see on social media, especially on Instagram, then you can consider the island of Hydra as a goldmine. There are a ton of places here that will make for a great post, ranging from its beautiful beaches and scenic coastlines to landmarks and monuments that represent the history and heritage of the island.
Hydra Town
Even though Hydra is made up of
different towns, there's only really one that's worth posting about on Instagram: Hydra Town. The island's capital has that typical Greek countryside charm that you'll find on other Greek Islands. There's the bustling port, the bougainvillea-ladened streets, the rustic homes, and more. Just about every corner looks as if it belongs in a period Hollywood film set in Greece. That's how cinematic and scenic Hydra Town really is. Even if most of your Instagram posts about Hydra consist of photos of Hydra Town, you won't hear any complaints!

Remember that posting about your trip to Hydra—or to any destination for that matter—isn't just about the places you visited and the sights you saw. Your followers will also want to know what you did on the island. And in Hydra, you can actually ride horses! Riding a mule is already part of
the island's public transport so it's nothing new, but riding a horse in Hydria would seem much more romantic, dramatic, and even downright cinematic. And Harriet’s Hydra Horses is the best business for it. All you need to do is to rent a horse and ask to take a picture with the island's immaculate natural beauty as the background.

The Coastal Bastions
Back in the 18th century, during the Grecko-Turkish war of 1897, Hydra serves as one of the main bases of the country's army. Before it became the top tourist destination it is now, the island was one of Greece's main defenses and some of the relics of that time are still there to this very day. The most important of which are the bastions, located along the coasts of Hydra Town and other coastal areas. They were instrumental in ensuring that the Turkish fleets didn't get anywhere near the island nor Greece in general. And now, they'd make for great history lesson posts on your Instagram page.

Rafalias Pharmacy
Out of all the places in Hydra, who would've thought that a pharmacy would make it onto this list of the island's most Instagram-worthy spots? Surely an ordinary pharmacy isn't Instagrammable enough but the famous Rafalias Pharmacy is a different story. From its 18th-century architecture to its beautiful display of medicine, this famous spot is actually considered the most beautiful pharmacy in the world. Though it still operates as one too, many of its visitors go here simply to ogle its old-world aesthetic. There's something gentle and romantic about the place, not to mention nostalgic even when it's your first time going here.

many beautiful beaches on the island. Heck, these are probably what your followers are expecting the most. From the gradient-toned waters at Avlaki Beach to the deep ocean blues at Spilia, these coastlines are picture perfect! Even if you only posted about these beaches on Instagram, you'll still garner a ton of likes and gain more followers than ever before!
