You know that Paris always ends the year with a bang! And this 2022 is no different. The year was already full of exciting events left and right. There were countless concerts, various conventions, and more. How would it look if the last month of the year, December 2022, would be anything less? It's also the holiday season, so the French capital definitely has a lot in store! There are Christmas markets, holiday concerts, Hanukkah celebrations, and New Year’s Eve, to name a few. If you'll be spending December 2022 in Paris, these are the events you simply shouldn't miss!
Christmas Market Openings
You can't spend Christmas in France—or anywhere else in Europe, for that matter!—without going to a market. And the
Christmas markets in Paris are so magical! Luckily, many of them open both on and even before December. This year, for instance, La Magie de Noël in the Tuileries Garden opens on November 19, 2022. The famous Christmas Market at Hôtel de Ville, on the other hand, opens on December 9, 2022. And the Christmas Market in the
15th arrondissement opens later on December 15, 2022. Once these markets open, you can bet that Paris will be filled with the holiday spirit!

Holiday Concerts & Performances
Paris has always been a musical city and this December 2022 will be no exception. Even more so since it's the holiday season! Christmas concerts are set in various parts and
neighborhoods in Paris, mostly in the grand churches and other stunning landmarks. The beautiful Saint Eustache church in the
1st arrondissement, for instance, will host a holiday concert from December 21 to 22, 2022. The more famous Madeline Church, on the other hand, will have theirs on December 23, 2022. You also shouldn't miss Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church's Corelli's Christmas concert too, slated for December 23 and December 30, 3033.

Hanukkah (December 18 to 26)
It's important to note that Christmas isn't the holiday celebrated in Paris in December. There's also Hanukkah too. Paris is still home to hundreds of thousands of Jews today, making them the biggest religious community after Christians. During this eight-night holiday, various parts of the French capital take part in lighting the menorah, the most important part of the holiday. It's a tradition that most Jewish families practice no matter where they are. But here in Paris, they've made it into a community event. Even those who aren't in the Jewish faith join in on the festivities sometimes too!

St Stephen's Day (December 26)
Right after Christmas Day, there's St. Stephen's Day. Held every December 26th, it's one of the most widely-celebrated
holidays in France. And you can bet the holiday fun continues here in Paris too. Most of the time, Parisians consider this as an extension of Christmas Day. Those who are religious, for example, spend the day hearing mass and praying with family. Meanwhile, other people are hanging out with their loved ones, going on dates with their partners, and going on shopping sprees during the post-Christmas sales. It's a lively event with a lot to look forward to!
