With its bright sunshine and vast natural wonders, Cape Town is a perfect city for you to get a tan. Sure, there are still plenty of big buildings out there. A good number of
neighborhoods in Cape Town do make up quite the sprawling metropolis. But there are also places like Sea Point Promenade, Cape Point, Hout Bay Beach, and Company's Garden that are as open and sunny as ever. Even if you didn't plan on it, you'd still get quite the tan if you spend a lot of time here. Just remember to always wear your sunblock so that you don't get a bad case of sunburn.
Cape Point
Located at the tip of the Cape Peninsula, you won't find a place that's sunnier than Cape Point! It's quite literally on the edge of the country, far from the sprawling metropolises and forested safaris that make up most of South Africa today. Here, it's just the high cliffs and the open Atlantic and Indian oceans. There's no doubt that you'll turn a nice golden brown even before you reach the very edge of Cape Point. And if you want to enjoy a beach day, there's a small and secluded shoreline just down below!

Hout Bay Beach
Of course, the best place to really get a good tan is on the
beaches of Cape Town. Specifically, there are two that are notably sunnier than the rest. One of them is Hout Bay Beach. This long stretch of sand and sea may be near its namesake suburban area, but even the residential houses are still a fair distance away from the shore. Here, all you'll see is the white sandy shoreline and turquoise waters. All you'll hear are the roaring waves that crash on the sand. And all you'll feel is the heat from the sun shining down on you. What's not to love?

Muizenberg Beach
Known for its colorful Victorian-style beach huts, Muizenberg Beach is definitely among the
most Instagrammable spots in Cape Town. And as you've probably surmised, it's also one of the best spots to get a tan too! The shoreline here is pretty open too. There are no tall structures or crowded resorts that block the sun. And thanks to its strong waves, the beach has become a surfer's haven. Their bronze bodies will show you just how tan you'll get if you spend even just a day here. You might even look totally different from when you first went to Muizenberg Beach!

Sea Point Promenade
What if you want to enjoy some seaside views without having to go to the beach? In a city like Cape Town, a simple stroll is enough to get pretty tan, right? That's why you should never leave the house without a layer or two of sunscreen. Especially if you're planning to take a walk on the Sea Point Promenade. Just as its name says, this is a coastal walkway that's as scenic as it can get! On one side, there's the bustling Sea Point neighborhood of Cape Town and the nearby mountains. And on the other side, there's the jewel-tone ocean and its crashing waves. What could be more lovely?

Company’s Garden
Ironically, Company’s Garden is known for its many tall trees and forested areas. This is one of the best spots in Cape Town where you can escape the bright hot sun. At least, in some parts anyway. There are still some areas in the Company’s Garden, the oldest of its kind in South Africa, where there's barely any shade. From lush fields to manicured gardens, and even an open-air cafe too, these are the spots in the garden where you'll really get a good tan. Who knows? You might even get darker here than on any of the beaches in the city!

Constantia
More than just mere spots and attractions, there are even full-blown districts in Cape Town where you can get a nice tan. One of which is the stunning Constantia area. Known for its vast vineyards that can rival
those in Italy, it's a largely rural part of Cape Town. It almost feels like you're no longer in the city when you're here. All you'll see are open fields, beautiful vineyards, and the magnificent mountain range of the Western Cape. Doesn't that sound like the perfect place to get your fair share of sunshine? The best part is you can even sample some local South African wine while you're at it!

V&A Waterfront
Another district in Cape Town where you're sure to turn golden brown is the famous V&A Waterfront. This bustling area is known for its lively scene, ranging from its
exquisite restaurants and cafes to all sorts of fun attractions for the whole family. And as you'd guess, it's right by the coast! Sure, there might be many tall buildings and other imposing structures in the neighborhood, but practically all the action is outside! The best things to do here—spend time on a yacht, a boat tour of the waterfront, or eat at an alfresco hotspot—are all under the sun!

There's no doubt that the more you spend time outside in Cape Town, the tanner you'll get. But it's better to do it in places where you can have the time of your life, right? If you plan on getting as much sun as you want, these hotspots are where you should go next!
