After its successful return in 2022, the beloved
Coachella music festival is back for another exciting edition this 2023. From April 14 to 23, 2023, fans can expect a lot of big artists, great music, cool fashions, and more! Coachella 2023 marks the festival's second return to the scene after it was canceled back in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Plans were later made for a 2021 edition but the event was also eventually canceled because of the pandemic. After a successful return in 2022, this year's edition looks to be another big bang! Especially since artists like Frank Ocean, Blackpink, and Bad Bunny are slated to perform.
Global Headliners Ahead
If you thought Coachella 2022 went global, wait until you see the headliners this year! No less than Björk, BlackPink, Bad Bunny, Rosalía, Frank Ocean, Charli XCX, Burna Boy, Alex G, and more will perform at Coachella 2023,
according to Pitchfork. Most notably, Frank Ocean was supposed to headline the 2020 edition before it was canceled due to Covid-19. Now, he's given a second chance to set that stage ablaze. Moreover, there are also a ton of foreign acts set to perform this year. As already mentioned, Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Bad Bunny and Kpop girl group Blackpink are some of the most hotly-anticipated artists. Even the
BBC highlighted that Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh will give South Asian representation this year too!
KPop Fever in Coachella Continues
Speaking of Kpop, rapper Lee Chae-rin, best known as “CL,” practically broke the internet last year when she reunited with her 2NE1 co-members during her set. She took a page right out of Beyonce's iconic 2019 Destiny's Child performance when the latter brought on Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a Destiny's Child reunion during her set. For Coachella 2023, however, Blackpink, also formerly managed by YG Entertainment, is slated to be among the most popular acts. Though it's not a reunion, this does mark the girl group's first music festival performance since signing under the Black Label.
Local California Artists Thriving
Apart from the boatload of global musical acts, a string of local California artists will also take center stage at Coachella 2023. Palo Alto-based singer, Remi Wolf, a former American Idol contestant, is excited to perform at this year's festival. A pioneer of the 'bedroom pop' genre, she's known to infuse a lot of funk and soul into her music. Hip-hop group AG Club, on the other hand, hails from Antioch, California. They, too, are ready to represent North Cali at Coachella this year. Perhaps, most controversially, no
San Francisco artists made it to this year's Coachella lineup.
Expect A Lot of Celebrity Summer Fashions
And as usual, you can expect the biggest celebs who will attend Coachella 2023 to sport the most stylin' summer looks. More than just the musical acts and their great performances, fans anticipate the fashion too. So much so that Coachella has become one of the most fashionable events of the year. It's right up there with the
New York Fashion Week, the Met Gala, the Oscars red carpet, and more. A few notable style stars who never disappoint include Vanessa Hudgens, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Winnie Harlow, Doja Cat, Irina Shayk, and more.
Coachella 2023 is bound to be the biggest music festival this year! Complete with a cool lineup of big stars, international artists, and local acts, any music-lover or pop fan will get their money's worth in this annual event!
