In every host city of the Summer Olympics, there is a special area where all the international athletes and more get to stay. It's called the “Olympic Village.” And here in Paris, that'll be in the northern suburbs of Saint-Denis, the area surrounding Cité du Cinéma, and even the farther banks of the Seine River. The public may not be allowed in this part of the host city, but if you can check the place out beforehand, you'll get to see how the best athletes in the world will live throughout the event. It's an exciting glimpse into what the
Paris Olympics will be like this 2024.
Saint-Denis
Among all the
neighborhoods in Paris, the suburbs of Saint-Denis are probably the least known. That's because this area is a good seven kilometers away from the city center. You can't exactly reach it via public transport. But this is also why it's the perfect location for the Olympic Village. According to
Paris2024.org, the Saint-Denis Suburbs is one of many areas that will make up the Olympic Village. Since it's a fair distance away from the main venues and the bustling parts of the French capital, there's no doubt that the world's best athletes will easily relax here.
Saint-Ouen
Saint-Ouen is another suburb located north of Paris. It's even closer to the city center than Saint-Denis, making it an even more appropriate location for the Olympic Village than the latter. You can even catch a glimpse of the Seine River that flows through here. The river banks here are much more peaceful and serene than those in the city center. Also, the commune is most famous for its Saint Ouen Flea Market, where you can score all sorts of fascinating finds. From delicious French food to adorable knick-knacks, there's no telling what you can buy from this

Cité du Cinéma
Cité du Cinéma will also be part of the Athletes’ Village for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Located in the Saint-Denis suburbs, this is the premier film studio complex in the French capital. And of course, this also means that it's the cinematic epicenter of France. From massive sets to piles on piles of costumes, this is the French capital's answer to
Hollywood in the US. And during the Paris Olympics in 2024, Cité du Cinéma's nave will house the dining hall for the world's best athletes. The fact that the biggest sports superstars on the planet will be dining here is something else!
Maxwell Hall
Also in Saint-Denis is Maxwell Hall, an industrial center that was built all the way back in 1907. You must be wondering what a historic building like that could ever be for in the Olympic Village, right? Well, Maxwell Hall will serve as the main recreational center for the athletes of the 2024 Paris Olympics. There will be gyms, fitness centers, a cafe, and the like. This is the place where they can train more before their competitions, relax, unwind, and more. As such, Maxwell Hall will likely be among the most important areas within the Olympic Village.
What Will Happen After The 2024 Paris Olympics?
Now, you may be wondering what will happen to the Olympic Village after the event. Since the city will set quite the massive yet comfortable living quarters here, will they just demolish everything and turn it all back to how things were before? Not necessarily!
Paris 2024 shares that by 2025, the Olympic Village will become its own neighborhood. This will include 2,800 new housing units, from luxury apartments to family homes, two new schools, a brand-new hotel, 3,200 square meters of commercial areas, and more. It's bound to be another must-see place just outside the city center after the Paris Olympics!
