Paris has long enjoyed a reputation as one of the most romantic cities in the world. But what makes it such a romantic city in the first place? Is it its historic beauty? The unique atmosphere? Or is it the fact that Paris has a lot of great date spots? You probably already know about the most famous ones—the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre Hill, the Terrass Hotel, and the like. But they are others that aren't as well-known but just as romantic too! And who knows? You and your date might just enjoy spending time in either Cimetière du Père Lachaise, Cinéma du Panthéon, and Canal St. Martin instead!
Cimetière du Père Lachaise
Let's start with a place you likely never would've thought would make for a great date spot: Cimetière du Père Lachaise. Yes, that's right! A cemetery! But make no mistake, Cimetière du Père Lachaise isn't an ordinary graveyard. For one thing, it's one of the
most beautiful cemeteries in Paris, possibly even in the whole world. This scenic cemetery is rich in opulent mausoleums, imposing stone angels, and lots of lusciously green trees. You should see the place in autumn too! With the shades of red and orange contrasting the gray tombstones, it's a scene worth capturing for Instagram!

Although an aquarium date isn't exactly new, it's also not the first thing you'll think of when you're dating in Paris. In such a city, you'd prioritize taking your special someone to the iconic landmarks and beautiful museums, right? With so many incredible places to visit, who'd go to an aquarium instead? Well, what if your date is really into marine biology? They'd love the Paris Aquarium, right? Even more so since it's not as popular as the main tourist attractions. You won't face as many crowds here as you would in those hotspots!

A movie date is also a classic. Whether you steam one in your Paris luxury home or you go to the cinema, this isn't exactly new. So why is a place like Cinéma du Panthéon, located in the
Latin Quarter, part of this list of underrated date spots in Paris? Simple: the place itself is pretty underrated. Compared to the likes of the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe, not a lot of people know about Cinéma du Panthéon. Or the fact that it's over a century old. It's not every day you get to watch the latest movies in such a historic place, right?

Sainte-Chapelle
You and your date should really see Sainte-Chapelle in the
1st arrondissement when you're in Paris. Even when it's not a date, you'd feel lucky to see this stunning church in person. From its breathtaking Gothic facade to its stunning stained glass windows, you'll almost wonder why Sainte-Chapelle isn't as popular as Notre Dame or Sacre-Cour. It's definitely just as beautiful as the latter two! And if you want to enjoy music, this place regularly holds concerts. It's the perfect date idea for when you and your partner want to dress up and relax. What's not to love?

Canal St. Martin
Truth be told, the banks of the Seine River are some of the best date spots in Paris. Even the hit Netflix series, “Emily in Paris”
showed it too. For one thing, it's free. If you don't have the budget to take your date anywhere fancy, this is your best bet. But then, many other people will likely have the same idea, right? So what then? Enter Canal St. Martin. The banks of this canal are lesser-known but just as scenic. The trees even provide the perfect shade for when it's too sunny out. Sounds perfect for a date, right?

If you're still up for a waterside date in Paris, there's also Chalet des Îles. This charming date spot in Bois de Boulogne is somewhat of a local secret. Of course, many tourists still know about it, but the crowd here is mostly residents of the French capital. And yes, the place is just as dreamy as it sounds! It's a beautiful lakeside chalet with a great terrace area that overlooks Lac Inférieur. The scene here is chill for the most part, but every Friday and Saturday night, it becomes a cool party place with a live DJ.

Hotel Particulier Montmartre prides itself as one of the lesser-known hotels in Paris. Located on Avenue Junot Pavillon D, a fairly quiet area in Montmartre, you can escape the city's hustle and bustle and just enjoy each other's company. Because of how fairly hidden it is, it's even become a go-to wedding venue in Paris! Who wouldn't want to get married in such a magical place? You can have the storybook-like ceremony you've always wanted in such a secret spot. But if you're just dating, Hotel Particulier Montmartre is still a great choice for when you just want a nice hot meal.

Technically speaking, Paris Balade isn't a date spot in Paris. Rather, it's a date idea that not a lot of people know about. Paris Balade offers you a chance to tour many of the beautiful
neighborhoods in Paris in a vintage car. You can live out your vintage fantasy, riding in cars like Peugeot 404 or a Mercedes S Class, all throughout the French capital. You can even visit the places mentioned on this list too! With a city as beautiful and as fascinating as Paris, a drive-by isn't that bad of an idea for a date!
