March 2023 is practically here and the Paris is as bustling as ever. The month signals the arrival of spring, after all, and since winter in France was also pretty busy, March will definitely have a lot to offer too. If you're in Paris by that time, don't miss out on international artists performing here, Semi Marathon de Paris, or Paris Fashion Week. These are just some events worth looking forward to. You probably already know a few of them. While some are worth learning more about. In any case, Paris in 2023 will fill up your schedule. Are you excited?
International Artists Live in Paris
Another month, another string of international artists performing live in Paris! And the lineup for March 2023 is a doozy! No less than Lizzo, Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg will hold their own concerts in the French capital. First up is the Grammy-winning rapper, Lizzo, who will perform at
AccorHotels Arena on March 5. The iconic Robbie Williams will then hit the stage at the same venue on March 20. And five days later, on March 25, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg will take over the same arena. On the other hand, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé will take over La Defense Arena on March 24th.
The first quarter of every year tends to be pretty busy in Paris. The city just held its fairly successful Haute Couture week last January, wherein many fashion houses presented their latest
spring 2023 haute couture collections. This time around, from February 27 to March 7, 2023,
Paris Fashion Week will then show off the autumn 2023 ready-to-wear collections. This edition will be a whole lot crazier since several other French brands will participate. The event will set the new trends of the year, showing a glimpse of what everyone will want to wear next season!
Start of Car-Free Sundays in Paris (March 5)
The first Sunday of the month, March 5, 2023, will mark the first car-free Sunday in Paris. Every now and then, the French capital holds this monthly—sometimes weekly—event that helps reduce car pollution in the city. On this particular Sunday, certain
neighborhoods in Paris will ban all private vehicles on the street. Save for a couple of taxis for public transport, people will have no choice but to either walk or ride a bike. In a way, it helps clear the air in this pretty dense metropolis, just in time for the upcoming arrival of spring!
Semi Marathon de Paris (March 5)
In preparation for the iconic Paris Marathon in April, the city will hold its annual
Semi Marathon de Paris on March 5, 2023. The route will span 21.1 kilometers long and over 40,000 runners are expected to participate. Luckily for the participants, the path will pass through many of the city's most famous and beloved sights. From the left bank of the Seine River to the grand Hôtel de Ville, getting to see all of them as you run and get more and more tired doesn't sound all that bad. Even more so if people are supporting you from the sidelines.
Paris Martial Arts Festival (March 11)
Located at the Accorhotels Arena in the
12th arrondissement, the Paris Martial Arts Festival will offer a spectacular demonstration of combat sports. Over 300 experts will participate in the event, showing off their amazing skills and sharing what they've learned so far. Matches will be held between athletes and groups, which will also include participants of different ages and gender. In a way, it will also give a taste of the Martial Arts competitions that will be held in the 2024 Paris Olympics next year. That's why any sports fan shouldn't miss this festival!
Start of Spring (March 20)
According to various experts, the start of spring in Paris will be on March 20, 2023. And though the city won't hold any sort of event on that day, it's still worth noting nonetheless. Why? Because Paris is arguably at its best in springtime. The sun is shining, the weather is warm, the flowers are blooming and a sweet scent fills the air. The idealized Paris you've seen in movies and TV series comes to life every springtime. It's also the best season to
visit the parks, go on dates with your special someone, and simply enjoy life in the French capital.
European Days of Crafts (Begins on March 27)
Finally, on March 27, 2023, the European Days of Crafts will take place all over the city of Paris. This is a cultural festival that highlights the craftsmanship in Europe. And since Paris is an art capital and the home of
haute couture, there's no way the city won't participate. On this day, museums, galleries, and other places will give space to all sorts of craftsmen to show off their goods and talents for all the world to see. It's also a great time to go shopping and buy the finest pieces from the city's best artisans.
As spring arrives in Paris, March 2023 will make the city even livelier. There are many great events to look forward to in the French capital, including awesome concerts, fun festivals, and more!
