Montorgueil is one of those famous districts in Paris that you simply have to know about. It may not be as famous as the Champs-Élysées, Montmartre, and the like, but it remains a beloved area nonetheless. Especially for locals. Known for its historic pedestrian-only street, this area is home to many shops, boutiques, markets, and most importantly, some of the finest cafes in Paris. Namely Café Montorgueil, A. Lacroix Pâtissier, Matamata Coffee Bar, and Cafe Madam. Despite how busy this neighborhood can get during the day, you can still escape all the hoopla and just relax in any of these amazing hotspots. Of course, their food is pretty stellar too!

Café Montorgueil

Anyone who's been to Montorgueil has likely been to or has heard of Cafe Montorgueil! The most famous cafe in this Parisian district, it's a culinary institution! It's also the most famous hotspot on Rue Montorgueil. But what exactly makes it so popular? Their classic haute cuisine. Whether it's a croissant or beef tartare, they serve the finest french food on the entire street. And paired with their old-school brasserie setting, the Parisian charm just overflows! Who wouldn't want to dine here and feel like a local in the city? Is it chicle? Perhaps! But satisfying nonetheless!

A. Lacroix Pâtissier

Technically speaking, A. Lacroix isn't your standard cafe in Paris. Located on Quai de Montebello, it's more of a pâtissier than a run-of-the-mill coffee shop. Don't worry! They still serve coffee here and there are tables available within the premises. But for the most part, A. Lacroix is all about its fabulous desserts. There are cream-filled pastries, for example, which will go well with your coffee here. Classic cookies and macarons also make for great treats during a quick coffee break. But if you truly want to indulge in such scintillating sweetness, go for their signature desserts. Your taste buds will love you for it!

Matamata Coffee Bar

On Rue d'Argout, you'll find the Matamata Coffee Bar, a cool little hotspot for coffee lovers. The place itself is rather compact, almost too small to be compared to the other cafes in Paris. But the moment you take your first sip of their well-brewed cups, you'll instantly fall in love! This is what separates the Matamata Coffee Bar from the rest of the coffee shops in the city, after all. They have such a strong devotion to coffee, you can almost taste it. They craft their beverage in such a way that you'd truly enjoy your caffeine fix!

Café Madam

Café Madam on Rue Saint-Denis is all about a good time. With its small portions and vegetarian options, it makes for a great brunch spot in Paris too! This is the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your food, and have a good time, be it on your own or in the company of others. It's nowhere near as fancy as some of the other cafes in Paris, but it's okay. This hotspot is more idyllic than anything else. It's a fabulous escape from all the hustle and bustle without going too provincial in its serene charms.
