A remote island sounds like the most beautiful thing in the world, doesn't it? With just the sand, sun, and sea to look forward to, you can just imagine how stunning one would be in person. Take the Greek Islands of Milos, Syros, Santorini, and Zakynthos, for example. Although these are some of the busiest destinations in the Mediterranean, that doesn't take away from their natural beauty. On top of that, they also offer first-class experiences that you won't ever forget. Whether you're on a luxury vacation or going on adventures, these are some of the most beautiful Greek Islands you simply have to see for yourself!
Milos
No list of the most beautiful Greek Islands is complete without Milos. A volcanic island in the Aegean Sea, the place is truly breathtaking. Specifically, Sarakiniko beach. The rock formations that make up this gorgeous shoreline are so white, they practically look like snow. And when contrasted with the deep blue tones of the Aegean Sea, they shine a whole lot brighter. Some would even go so far as to say that this beach is white than the towns on the island.

Santorini
Ahh, Santorini! Is there any Greek Island more famous? Often the setting of
films that inspire wanderlust, there's something almost cinematic about it. The place is truly beautiful, from its whitewashed towns topped with bright blue domes to the glistening waters of the Aegean Sea. Imagine getting to live in a
luxury home with a view here! You'd get to wake up to such a dreamy scenery, you'd think you were still dreaming yourself!

Corfu
Among the Ionian Islands in Greece, Corfu is undoubtedly the most popular. The vibe here is often lively and it stays that way practically
all day long. In the morning, families are having fun at the beach. By the afternoon, backpackers are heading off to the less commercialized parts of the island. As the sun sets, Happy Hour kicks in and the fun begins, lasting for about the entire night. With all of these and more in store, Corfu really is a must-see Greek Island!

Syros
If there's one thing that many Greek Islands have in common, it's the whitewashed town. From the bustling
neighborhoods in Santorini to the charming districts in Mykonos, practically each and every one of these islands has its fair share of such communes. One of the few exceptions is Syros. Though there are still some stark white houses here, the towns aren't as whitewashed as you'd expect. Instead, they come in earthy neutral tones, almost as if these idyllic homes sprouted out from the earth.

Kefalonia
The
towns in Kefalonia are also quite colorful. This is yet another of the rare Greek Islands where whitewashed towns aren't the only communes to see around here. In fact, one of its most famous towns, Assos, is famous for its colorful scenery. From the brightly-hued houses to the gradient jewel tones of the Ionian Sea, Kefalonia is as pretty as a picture. It's also one of those places where it's beautiful from any angle. The island itself looks spectacular from a distance while the views from there are not to be missed as well!

Naxos
It's not that farfetched to say that Naxos has some of the best beaches among the Greek Islands. Of course, every single one of them is a paradise in its own right, the coasts of this particular island are pretty special. Perhaps it's because most of them have remained fairly untouched or are less commercialized compared to the other islands. Naxos has always relied on farming to help stabilize its economy, making the more lush green fields on the inner parts of the island prime real estate. The beaches, on the other hand, though useless for farming, retained their natural beauty.

Serifos
Serifos may not be among the most popular Greek Island, but locals and tourists alike wouldn't have it any other way! This isn't to say that the more well-known islands are less beautiful or less paradisical. But since almost all of Serifos is largely untouched, its Mediterranean beauty hasn't lost its natural luster. There are small but utterly magical coves that one can only reach via raggedy paths and narrow trails. Whitewashed towns are abundant here, but they're fairly far from each other. They're surrounded by such sweeping landscapes instead!

Paros
Paros is another one of those less-crowded Greek Islands. It still gets its fair hair of tourists, sure, but far from the likes of Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. And perhaps, this is what made Paros remain one of the most beautiful destinations, not just in Greece, but in the entire Mediterranean. It strikes a solid balance between bustling tourism and untouched natural beauty. And even if you only have
one day to spend in Paros, rest assured that it'll be one you would never forget!

Hydra
The fact that riding a mule is one of the very few ways to get around Hydra already makes it a worthwhile island. There's still
public transport on the island, but it's not as complete as those on the other islands. And though it's also not that far from Athens, Hydra has remained a pretty rural island for the most part. It's here where you can truly immerse yourself in local Greek culture, from traditions to cuisine and more.

Zakynthos
Zakynthos prides itself as one of Greece's greenest islands. From its stunning shorelines to the magnificent mountain ranges, Mother Nature is alive and well on this Greek Island. And this is despite the fact that the place has long been somewhat of a party destination over the years. It may not be as popular as Corfu or Mykonos, but Zakynthos still gets its fair share of rowdy tourists. Fortunately, that hasn't stopped the island from preserving and conserving its natural beauty.
