Can you believe that September 2023 is already next month? It seems that the year just started yesterday, but now, the last quarter is just around the corner. And with September comes the autumn season, a time for wearing sweaters, cozying up with someone special, and seeing the leaves fall on beautiful cities like
Paris. Next month is bound to be a busy one for the French capital. There's Paris Fashion Week, European Heritage Days, Les Traversées du Marais, and more to look forward to. If you'll be in the city by then, you're gonna have a ball!
International Artists Live in Paris
As usual, Paris will set the stage for various international artists this September 2023. Right off the bat, there's the legendary French-Canadian chanteuse, Celine Dion, who will perform at La Defense Arena on various dates between September 1st and 10th. At Le Bataclan on Boulevard Voltaire in the
11th arrondissement, on the other hand, Australian R&B trio Chase Atlantic is set to perform. And on the next day, September 8, the famous Accor Arena will feature another music icon: Icelandic singer Bjork. It's bound to be quite the music month in Paris this September!
Les Traversées du Marais (September 1 to 3)
Even without any sort of event,
Le Marais was already a district anyone would want to explore. Widely regarded as the chicest and trendiest area in the French capital, it's home to the Jewish Quarter and serves as the city's main gay neighborhood. With all that said, however, that doesn't stop the district from staging a total of 47 cultural events this September 2023. On the first full weekend of the month, September 1 to 3, locals and tourists alike can join in the excitement of Les Traversées du Marais. It's a series of small but impactful events that show the true spirit of Le Marais.
Car Free Day (September 3 & 17)
Make sure to wear flats when you go out in Paris this September 3 and 17, 2023. On these days, Paris will observe its Car-Free days, a way to lessen the air pollution in the city brought on by automobiles. Typically, it'll only be on the first Sunday of the month, which is on September 3rd this year. However, the city added September 17th, the third Sunday of the month, as a car-free day as well. With most private vehicles banned from the streets in various parts of the city, this is the best day to enjoy a nice stroll in Paris.
Paris Design Week (September 7 to 16)
Fashion designers aren't the only ones getting the spotlight in Paris this September 2023. The month will also host the upcoming Paris Design Week, a week-long showcase of the finest home decor pieces made by local artisans. From classic trends to new aesthetics, it's among the most important events in the entire interior design industry. A whopping 300 galleries throughout the different
neighborhoods in Paris are expected to participate, serving as exhibits for the finest furniture and interior designers in Paris and beyond. It's also a great way to get inspired by how you'll want to design your own
luxury home in Paris.
European Heritage Days (September 16 to 17)
If you'll be in Paris from September 16 to 17, 2023, you'll also get to celebrate European Heritage Day. Just as its name says, it's the one day of the year when various European cities—including the French capital, of course—highlight their own cultural heritages. And with so many historical monuments and massive museums on offer, you're in for quite the
European Heritage Day in Paris! Over 300 of the city's cultural attractions will grant free access including various sites that are normally closed off to the public. This is your best chance to see various significant parts of the city without paying a single cent!
Paris Fashion Week (Begins on September 25)
And finally, September 25, 2023, marks the beginning of
Paris Fashion Week. This highly-publicized week-long event will feature the most famous
haute couture houses, luxury labels, and emerging designers showing their spring/summer 2024 collections. It's bound to be a hectic end to September 2023 as various celebrities, international press, and more will descend upon the French capital. You can also expect many significant sites in the city to be closed off as they might serve as venues for the biggest brands' fashion shows. Not to mention heavy traffic throughout Paris too!
September 2023 doesn't just signal the start of autumn in Paris. The month is also chock-full of exciting events in the city. From Fashion Week to art festivals, Paris is definitely the place to be next month!
