Another area in Collserola you can go to on your bike is Carretera de les Aigües. This place is one of the more private and even more rural parts of the mountainous region, making it a perfect spot for adventurers looking to go slightly beyond the populous areas in Barcelona. Do take note that it's quite a steep climb here, so it's not for the faint of heart. The place is more suitable for experienced cyclists, as it will take a lot of energy and power to even get to the popular points in this area. The Montjuic mountain is a great place to bike through for many reasons. One of them is that several of the areas here were used during the 1992 Summer Olympics, the year Barcelona hosted the historic event. Remnants of those times are still seen via the markers, signs, and more. There's also the famous Montjuic castle, a fortress fit to star in a period fantasy film. Its gothic architecture may seem familiar and similar to the buildings in the city proper, but against the backdrop of the stunning mountainous region, it makes for an even more spectacular monument.

The famous arc here was built to commemorate the 1888 World Fair which took place in the lovely Catalan capital. The arc itself is not as big as the one in Paris but it is the landmark of Par Citudella, one of the most popular biking areas in all of Barcelona. With countless fountains, gardens, and a zoo nearby (the Barcelona Zoo), it's here where you get to really see the city in its busiest glory. All while riding your bike.
