Venice isn't known for its green spaces. The serene canals with floating gondolas or the hidden alleys in between massive plazas are what most people expect in Venice. But parks? Not exactly! It's a bit of a shame too because Venice has tons of great gardens, parks, and more. They're perfect for having a lovely picnic in Venice. Giardini della Biennale is one, especially with how tranquil the place is. Consider hanging out at Lido Beach too, which is perfect for a sunny family day. And don't forget about Parco delle Rimembranze too!
Giardini della Biennale
What makes a good picnic spot is that it's a place where you can do all sorts of things apart from just the picnic. Giardini della Biennale is a good example. Also referred to as the “Napoleonic Gardens” as the historic conquerer created the green space, the park is among the most beloved in the city. It's located in the Castello
neighborhood of Venice, an area known for its peaceful atmosphere. So you know that you will have a good time here. As for the other things you can do in Giardini della Biennale, you can also enjoy interesting artwork. The park also serves as the staple venue for the International Art Exhibition.

Parco delle Rimembranze
Also in the Castello district is Parco delle Rimembranze, a scenic waterside park that's perfect for a picnic in Venice. If you truly want to escape the city's hustle and bustle, as well as its many tourist trappings, go to Parco delle Rimembranze! This tree-filled park looks and feels like it's a world away from the building-heavy metropolis. It's not a massive green space, but its open-air atmosphere is refreshing in contrast to the narrow alleys and canals of Venice. Here, you can enjoy a picnic with an idyllic view, fresh air, and ample sunshine. What more could you ask for?

Parco Savorgnan
Parco Savorgnan is a hidden gem in Venice. Its garden-like mystique makes it the perfect escape within the city, perfect for those who need a breather amidst all the busy energy. The park only has 2.3 acres but every bit of it is filled with botanical bliss. The trees offer ample shade, the lush grassy field cushions just right, and the fountains add a soothing touch too. Though it's a nice place for a family picnic, it feels more suited for a romantic picnic for couples
spending Valentine's Day in Venice. Sounds like a great date idea, doesn't it?

Giardini Papadopoli
Despite how small Giardini Papadopoli is, it's still a popular park among locals and tourists alike. How could it not be when it overlooks the Rio Novo Canal? The pairing of this green-filled space with the soothing waters of the canal makes it a pleasant place for anyone to have a good time. A family can have the loveliest picnic in Venice here, surrounded by beautiful scenery and an idyllic ambiance not found anywhere else in the city. Fortunately, Giardini Papadopoli is near the Santa Lucia train station, which means it's easy enough to reach via
Venice's public transport.

Giardinetti Reali
Giardinetti Reali, or the Royal Garden, has all the regality and refinement you'd expect from such a name. Although the park was created by Napoleon Bonaparte, much like Giardini della Biennale, the place still has the look and feel of a former aristocratic residence. Even if a king never commissioned this garden, you can easily imagine well-dressed royals strolling along this park in their fabulous garb. This elegance is what also makes it a great choice for a picnic in Venice. Enjoy a dainty tea party by the benches of the park, complete with porcelain tea cups and pinkies up high.

Lido Beach
Yes, you read that right! Lido Beach is another, if not the best place for anyone to picnic in Venice. It's practically made for it! Even if you don't have plans to swim in the sea, nothing stops you from just enjoying a nice picnic here. Lay out a blanket, prepare a delicious feast, and have a good time. You can enjoy the sun and get a good tan while your kids build sandcastles or splash around the seaside. Don't worry! Lido Beach is big enough for you to snag a spot that's fairly away from the wet swimmers around you.
