Spring is in full bloom in
Paris this April 2024 and you know what that means! A livelier and more eventful city. The French capital has always had many things in store, no matter the time of year, but there's something about springtime that has it the busiest. Next month, for example, there's the annual Paris Marathon, Festival des Arts Martiaux, The European Days of Crafts, the “Art Paris” Art Fair, and more. If you'll be in Paris by that time, you'll want to fit in as many of these events in your calendar as possible!
International Artists Live in Paris
Paris will be as star-studded as ever this April 2024. One of the biggest artists slated to perform live in Paris next month is Avril Lavigne. The chart-topping Canadian singer-songwriter is responsible for many pop-rock hits of the early noughties, such as “Sk8er Boi” (2002), “My Happy Ending” (2004), and “Girlfriend” (2007). She will take to the stage at Zenith de Paris in the
19th arrondissement on April 12th, performing two shows on the day. Another early 2000s favorite is Black Eyed Peas, whose reunion tour will take them to La Defense Arena on April 20th.

Easter Monday (April 1)
April 2024 is off to a good start with Easter Monday on the very first day of the month. For the rest of the world, April 1st is better known as “April Fool’s Day,” the one day where people play pranks on each other. But for France (and other European countries), it's all about Easter Monday. This is one of the more unique
holidays in France since not many places celebrate the day after Easter Sunday. For the French, this extra day is as much a reason for celebration as the holy day itself. They put on fun fairs, eat out, and have a ball!

European Days of Crafts (April 2 to 7)
On the very first week of April 2024, from the 2nd to the 7th, Paris will host its much-anticipated European Days of Crafts. This is actually a holiday held all over Europe, not just France, and it's a great chance to see true craftsmanship on full display. From jewelry makers to costume designers, the event is your best bet to see how artisans continue their respective crafts, resulting in some of the most extraordinary pieces ever made. These exhibitions are held throughout the different
neighborhoods in Paris, allowing the entire city to join in on all the artistic fun!

”Art Paris” Art Fair (April 4 to 7)
Around the same time as the European Days of Crafts, Paris will also host its annual ”Art Paris” Art Fair. Held in the Grand Palais Éphémère in the
7th arrondissement, it's a must-see event for any art lover in Paris at this time. Over 900 artists from 136 galleries from 25 different countries will feature their latest and best works here, further solidifying the French capital's authority over the art world. A notable show to check out this year is ”Fragile Utopia,” which will focus on French art and feature 21 local Parisian artists.

Paris Marathon (April 7)
Perhaps the most famous and most anticipated event in Paris this April 2024 is the iconic
Paris Marathon. It's one of the best-known annual sporting events on the planet, never failing to draw in tens of thousands of participants and even more spectators. This year, the Paris Marathon is said to include 65,000 runners and over 250,000 spectators. The race famously starts at the Arc de Triomphe and will travel through many of the city's other equally iconic landmarks and monuments. It's such a sight to behold, it's no wonder it's the most well-known marathon in the world.

Festival des Arts Martiaux (April 27)
The Paris Marathon isn't the only sporting event to expect in Paris this April 2024. There's also the Festival des Arts Martiaux in Accor Arena on the 27th. It's among the biggest showcases of martial arts in the world, drawing in athletes and fans from all over the planet. The event typically features talks, forums, demonstrations, and matches of all sorts of Eastern martial arts, from karate to kung fu and everything in between. Despite how international it is, it's also a largely local event where homegrown athletes get to show off their
chops (literally) to the rest of the world.
