History of Esmod
As already mentioned, Esmod was established in 1841 by Alexis Lavigne, the prominent tailor who worked for Empress Eugénie in the 19th century. Lavigne published his unique cutting and tailoring methods, eventually resulting in opening up courses to those interested in learning his style. This became the foundation of Esmod, which remains one of the finest fashion schools in
Paris. Today, the school continues teaching Lavigne's traditional methods, alongside other styles that have helped evolve fashion design to the billion-dollar industry it is today. It's one of the very few institutions that teach both traditional and modern methods of fashion design.
What Does Esmod Look Like?

prestigious fashion school in Paris. It also helps that its location is in the
9th arrondissement, one of the most affluent areas in the city. The school captures the grandeur and glamour of the French fashion capital, further proving its prominence in the industry. Its Belle Epoque campus offers a treasure trove of studios, ateliers, classrooms, and more, all for teaching and training new generations of fashion professionals.

Esmod is truly one of the most prestigious fashion schools, not just in Paris, but in the entire world. The school only accepts around 350 applicants per year, including returning students who have yet to finish their programs. Despite how small the student body is, however, this doesn't mean it's an entirely exclusive school. Around 25% of its 350 enrollees are international students, coming from over 28 countries around the world. On top of that, Esmod has opened schools in different cities too, including Dubai, Moscow, Istanbul, and more.
Esmod's Best Programs and Courses
Esmod is divided into two main categories: the fashion design programs and the Esmod Fashion Business School. The first is the more traditional applied arts constitution, offering up a Fashion Designer undergraduate program and a Creative Director postgraduate program. The former, the Fashion Designer undergraduate program, is a five-year course that will give you a Bachelor of Arts Degree when you graduate. The latter, the Creative Director postgraduate program, on the other hand, ends with a master's degree. As for the Esmod Fashion Business School, its courses include marketing, brand management, and even some short-term application workshops.
