Paris has grown to be the very definition of a global city through the years. It now has one of the most diverse populations of any major city and serves as an international business hub. With the way the French capital is today, it's only natural that it has set up various educational institutions that teach a global student body too. And while there are many in the city today, the total embodiment of it is the International School of Paris. This non-profit-run private school is the best place for foreign students to get proper, high-quality education in the French capital.

History of The International School of Paris

From what started as a small class in the Paris Suburbs, the International School of Paris didn't take long to become the prestigious academic institution it is today. Monique Porter founded the school in 1964 and originally named it “Pershing Hall” after the building where it was first located. At the time, the “school” only taught six students, five of which represented different nationalities. By 1975, ISP then moved to the central districts, growing more prominent among the the city's international communities and gaining more students along the way. And by 2000, the school has taught over 700 students from over 60 different countries around the world.

What is The International School of Paris' Campus Like?

The International School of Paris boasts three beautiful campuses in different parts of the city. The first one is on Rue Beethoven in the 16th arrondissement. Housed in a beautiful Victorian-era building, it has all the grandeur and old-world appeal you'd expect in a decades-long educational institution. Its second campus is on Rue du Ranelagh in the upscale Passy district. This is where the primary school is located, welcoming and teaching most of the young students from various countries around the world. Both campuses boast high-quality facilities and ample space for the little ones to learn and play in good measure.

The International School of Paris Student Body

As already mentioned, the International School of Paris welcomes around 700 students per year. It's one of the biggest student bodies that an international school in Paris welcomes. Naturally, this is largely thanks to the fact that the school has multiple campuses throughout the French capital. By dividing the levels in each of the campuses, ISP is more than able to teach 700 students, from kindergarten to grade 10. True to its name, the ISP student body is also among the most diverse, with students coming from over 60 different countries around the world.

What is The International School of Paris' Curriculum?

The International School of Paris takes pride in its International Baccalaureate curriculum, one of the prominent schools in the French capital that offers this education. From nursery to Grade 12 (Senior High School), ISP aims to provide its students with organizational skills, research skills, and self-confidence. Most notably, the IB curriculum is also what most prestigious universities and colleges take an interest in. Many of the world's top higher educational institutions even go so far as to offer scholarships to those who have graduated from secondary education with an IB diploma.

How Much Does It Cost to Study at The International School of Paris?

As one of the finest international schools in Paris, it's no surprise that ISP also imposes high tuition fees. Its nursery to pre-kindergarten levels, for example, cost €24,300.00 per year. Primary school, which is from kindergarten to grade 5, costs €29,550.00 per year. From grades 6 to 9, the tuition fees rise to about €34,400.00 per year. For senior high school, from grades 10 to 12, the cost is around €36,750.00. These prices practically rival those of less prominent colleges or even high-class art and fashion schools in Paris.

Where is The International School of Paris in Paris?

As already mentioned, the International School of Paris is located in various parts of the city. They're all in the 16th arrondissement, arguably the most affluent neighborhood in Paris. There's the Beethoven campus (on Rue Beethoven), which houses the senior high school (grades 10 to 12), and the Ranelagh campus (on Rue du Ranelagh), which houses the nursery and primary school (kindergarten to grade 5). The third one, the Cortambert campus (on Rue Cortambert), is where you'll find the secondary school (grades 6 to 9). All in all, this upscale district is perfect for families with kids going to ISP. Not only is it an elegant and peaceful area, but it's also filled with the most luxurious apartments in Paris.
