July 25, 2024

Art and academics reign supreme in the Forest International School, one of the best international schools in Paris. While other educational institutions focus more on one or the other, this place maintains a nice balance between the two. As a bilingual school in the western suburbs of Paris, the school serves as a safe space and a peaceful oasis for kids, especially the little ones, to grow in their own way. Packed with fun activities and an exciting approach to education, the institution aims to let the children learn at their own pace, express creativity, and gain a thirst for knowledge and growth.

History of Forest International School

Not much is truly known about the early days of the Forest International School, only that it's one of the more recent international schools in Paris. But while it's not one of the more historic academic institutions in the city, it's still among the most prestigious for the little ones. It's a British-born private school in Mareil-Marly, one of the western Paris Suburbs. Though the school accepts students of various nationalities, it offers English National Curriculum. It also takes a page out of the UK schools and lets the kids go outside for their studies too.

What is Forest International School's Campus Like?

The Forest International School's campus truly lives up to its name, especially the “Forest” part. Its campus in Mareil-Marly commune places it nearer to nature, even though it's far from what many would consider rural. The school building itself is a grand variation of Neoclassical buildings, reminiscent of the more prominent and historic educational institutions of its kind. But what truly separates the Forest International School from all the others is that spends a considerable amount of time outdoors. The forested areas nearby provide the perfect place for science class, playtime, and more.

The Forest International School Student Body

The Forest International School is among the smaller schools in Paris. It only welcomes about 54 students per year across various academic levels. It's far from how many other educational institutions of its kind have, which tend to range from hundreds to thousands. Nevertheless, the Forest International School's limited student body has a lot of benefits too. With 12 kids per class, this allows the teachers and instructors to give ample attention to each student. It's also easier for the staff to keep a close eye on them too, especially when they visit the more nature-centric places nearby.

What is Forest International School's Curriculum?

As already mentioned, the Forest International School follows an English National Curriculum. It's worth noting that this is different from the British Curriculum, which other international schools in Paris also offer. While the latter is more focused on providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge that will help them succeed later in life, the former is more structured and devoted to maintaining both a nice balance and consistency between subjects. This isn't to say that the English National Curriculum doesn't prepare students for their future, but it does help them learn at an easier and more manageable pace.

How Much Does It Cost to Study at Forest International School?

While the Forest International School is one of the more affordable private schools in Paris, it's still far from cheap. The school's tuition fees range from €18,000.00 to €25,000.00 per year, which is still generally expensive. On top of that, the school also imposes additional fees, all of which aren't exactly cheap either. The most common is the non-refundable application fee, which costs €100.00. Another non-refundable fee is the development fee, which is a high €5,000.00. And for the school’s many outdoor trips, you'll have to pay around €350.00 to €850.00 each.

Where is Forest International School in Paris?

Mareil-Marly, the commune where the Forest International School is located, is technically not in Paris. At least, not in the central neighborhoods in Paris anyway. As already mentioned, Mareil-Marly is part of the western Paris Suburbs, perhaps even one of the farthest from the city center. This is further proven by the various forested and nature-centric areas that surround the campus. At the same time, Mareil-Marly is a fairly nice place to live. It's peaceful enough for families, largely suburban, and a lot quieter compared to the actual French capital. You'll also find some of the most luxurious homes in Paris here.
