History of Queen Mary University of London

Queen Mary University of London has had various iterations over the years. The first was The London Hospital Medical College, England's first medical school that opened in 1785. In 1843, it turned into St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College, best known for having trained and taught the UK's first female doctor, Elizabeth Blackwell. But what was closest to the university today was the East London College, also known as the Queen Mary College. Housed in the People's Palace that opened in 1887, it was a series of technical schools in the palace's east wing. Parts of the university's campus are still on that very same site to this day.

Is it hard to get into Queen Mary University of London? Well, it's definitely not easy! At the minimum, you need the standard prerequisites to apply to this university. This means you need at least a high school diploma for its undergraduate programs or a Bachelor's Degree in any related field for its postgraduate courses. Certain majors, however, require further qualifications. Take the law school, for example. You need to have taken the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT) to get accepted to the university's law programs.
