Core International School is among the finest primary international schools in Rome. Located at the heart of the city, it's a safe space for foreign kids to learn, grow, and develop in the Italian capital. It's not exactly the most elite institution out there, but it's a great place for the young ones to start. For one thing, the school openly and specifically welcomes international students, teaching classes in different languages and providing different perspectives in their lessons. At the same time, the school has cultivated a welcoming community for all sorts of people.

History of Core International School

Since it was founded in 1983, Core International School has served as one of the top international schools in Rome. Though there were already many other educational institutions of its kind by that time, this school stood out with its devotion to teaching, training, and taking care of younger students. To this day, Core International School focuses on children aged 3 to 11, specifically from nursery to primary school. This is fairly unique considering that most of Rome's international schools focus on secondary school too. They've also fostered a welcoming community, drawing in and accepting students from over 35 countries and territories.

What is Core International School's Campus Like?

Since it's only a primary school, Core International School's campus is fairly small. There are the usual classrooms, snack rooms, and a small outdoor play area, but overall, it's far from the big campuses of the other international schools. Fortunately, the campus is just right for the kids. It allows them to learn and play in good measure, all while growing at their own pace. The less rigid physical structure of the school also allows them to feel more comfortable with the space, further encouraging them to learn and explore more as they grow up.

The Core International School Student Body

While it varies from year to year, Core International School welcomes about a couple hundred students per year. There are approximately 16 in each class, from nursery to primary school. And as already mentioned, the school welcomes kids aged 3 to 11. Much like the campus, this less rigid structure allows the kids to learn and play more freely, as well as to be more comfortable as they spend time away from their parents. At the same time, this limited number of students gives the staff ample time and space to focus on each kid more carefully.

What is Core International School's Curriculum?

Core International School follows a British curriculum, which is known to emphasize a nice balance between academics and extracurricular activities. But since it only has nursery to primary school grade levels, this is even less structured compared to a more standard school. Nevertheless, the school highlights the importance of academics, going so far as to even incorporate subjects like math, science, and the like during playtime. It's a more hands-on approach that's age-appropriate to the school's young students all while fully teaching the lessons in new and creative ways.

How Much Does It Cost to Study at Core International School?

As far as international schools in Rome go, Core International School is far from the most expensive. Does it cost a lot to let your kids study here? In the grand scheme of things, yes, it is. The school's tuition fees range from around €9,400.00 to €11,400.00 per year, with the price increasing as the student ascends to higher grade levels. On top of that, you'll also have to pay an additional registration fee, which is €350.00 for new students (one-time payment) and €250.00 for returning students (annual).

Where is Core International School in Rome?

Core International School is located on Via Crati at the heart of Rome. It's famously near Villa Ada Park. It's pretty common for the school to take the students to the park, especially during playtime. Don't worry! The area itself is safe and largely residential. It's far more peaceful compared to the central neighborhoods of Rome, with fewer tourists and very little commercial activity. Naturally, such a place is perfect for settling down with your family. On top of the great school nearby, the area is also where you'll find a handful of fairly affordable luxury apartments to rent in Rome.
