History of The French-American School of New York
The French-American School of New York was established in 1980 as a way for students to have a bilingual education. It first opened in Larchmont, one of the many
New York suburbs that's not too far from the city. In its early days, the school only consisted of two teachers who provided education at nursery, kindergarten, and first-grade levels. By the end of that same year, the school eventually received a provisional charter from the New York State Regents, thus becoming the international academic institution it is today. By 1982, the school had grown to welcome about 70 students.

The French-American School of New York is unique in that it's in two different districts. The first, which includes the nursery school and grades 1 to 3, has remained in Larchmont, where the school was established. The other two, both the headquarters and the secondary school, are in Mamaroneck, a town in New York's Westchester County. Since none of these are the bustling
neighborhoods of New York City, the campuses are a lot more peaceful and safe. They're also pretty standard as far as school campuses go. All three have the standard facilities—classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, and more.

From what started as a small institution located in a former Catholic school, the French-American School of New York has grown to be one of the finest in the city. None proves this more than its student body. In its early days, the school could only manage to teach less than 100 students at a time. Today, the school now welcomes about 700 to 800 enrollees per year. They're composed of both new applicants and returning students who have yet to graduate. They also come from various countries around the world, including Canada, China, Vietnam, and of course, France.
What is The French-American School of New York's Curriculum?
The French-American School of New York takes pride in its multicultural and bilingual curriculum. True to its name, the school also teaches in French, specifically for students who only know how to speak the language. This then helps the institution maintain its diverse student body, welcoming young kids who may not have a good grasp of the English language. As for its academics, literature & humanities play as big a part as the standard math, science, and social studies. The school also maintains a nice balance between these subjects and lets the students partake in extracurricular activities.
