The British International School of Washington (BISW) first opened in 1998 and became one of the finest schools in Washington D.C., possibly even in all of the East Coast. As early as its first few years, the school already relied on three important factors—its British academic heritage, its personalized approach to learning, and its focus on international standards of education. Through these three guiding principles, it didn't take long for BISW to join the prestigious Nord Anglia Education. This family of schools run by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is renowned for its many elite academic institutions throughout the US and beyond.
