At first glance,
Penn Alexander School seems like a typical school in Philadelphia. It has a nice campus, stable security, well-detailed curricula, and first-class staff. Any family living in the city would find no trouble enrolling their kids here, even foreigners even though it's not necessarily an international school in Philadelphia. Beyond that, however, Penn Alexander School stands determined to provide high-quality education to all students. It's a public school that imposes no tuition but also offers fine lesson plans, extracurricular activities, and more. What more could any family ask for?

History of Penn Alexander School
The Penn Alexander School serves as a prominent public school in West
Philadelphia. Founded in 2001, it's real name is the Sadie T. M. Alexander University of Pennsylvania Partnership School, named after Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander, a UPenn alumna and the country's first African-American woman to earn a Ph.D. in economics. As stated in its complete name, the school is an affiliate of the famous University of Pennsylvania, the most prestigious school in Philadelphia. Its campus is even located within the university, which further solidifies the connection between the two academic institutions.
What is Penn Alexander School's Campus Like?
As mentioned previously, the Penn Alexander School is located within UPenn's campus, specifically on Spruce Street in Society Hill, one of
Philadelphia's central neighborhoods. Though this may seem like it's a small campus, especially since it's only one building, the school itself is large enough for its student body. Even as a single building within a university campus, it's still pretty big itself, complete with the standard facilities necessary for such an institution. Moreover, its location also gives the school access to UPenn's school grounds, specifically the lush field in front of the building.

The Penn Alexander School Student Body
While it's one of the most respected schools in Philadelphia, the Penn Alexander School is also among the smallest in the city. Especially when it comes to its student body. The school welcomes over 600 students per year, including both new enrollees and those returning who haven't graduated yet. This number may seem pretty big on its own, but with other schools having as many as thousands of students annually, it's still fairly small. Nevertheless, it's also a diverse student body. About 55% of Penn Alexander School's students are students of color and 48% of them are female students while the remaining 52% are male students.
What is Penn Alexander School's Curriculum?
Thank to its affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania, the Penn Alexander School provides a well-detailed curriculum that prepared its students to take on higher education. Its heavily focused on academics, especially Mathematics and Reading as both subjects relate to other fields as well. Hence, 67% of students score equal to or above the proficient level for Math while 82% score equal to or above the same level for Reading. All of this may make it seem like Penn Alexander School is a rigid academic institution, but the school still encourages its students to participate in extracurricular activities too.
Where is Penn Alexander School in Philadelphia?
As already mentioned, Penn Alexander School is located on Spruce Street in Society Hill. The area is an upscale residential district, best-known for its historic appeal and famous landmarks.
