The Goethe International Charter School is among the best schools in Los Angeles. While it's not a private academic institution, it has embraced the city's diverse community. Los Angeles has several families who relocated here from other countries and their children likely don't speak English and are pretty unfamiliar with American values. Fortunately, the Goethe International Charter School provides them with the perfect space and environment. This school welcomes all kids who are willing to learn and understand both the US and the rest of the world more.

History of Goethe International Charter School

The Goethe International Charter School (GICS) was founded in 2009, at a time when academic institutions of its kind were scarce in the city. Though there were already many international schools in Los Angeles by the turn of the 21st century, there were only very few that were as multilingual as GICS. Hence, it was also fairly easy for the school to gain prominence in the city. GCIS catered to the multicultural diversity of Los Angeles, allowing even international students to easily integrate into this fine academic institution. This is also why GICS is among the most diverse schools in LA.

What is Goethe International Charter School's Campus Like?

Goethe International Charter School is located on Braddock Drive, which is near many central neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Though it has a fairly small campus, it still has all the standard school facilities needed for proper education. There are big classrooms, laboratories, a library, and ample outdoor space. Despite its location in LA, the school also boasts a secure campus that guarantees the safety of all students. Rest assured that if you send your kid to school here, nothing will happen to them. The teachers are also well-trained for any eventuality.

The Goethe International Charter School Student Body

Goethe International Charter School is a small school both with its campus and its student body. GICS welcomes around 440 students per year, composed of both new enrollees and those returning who have yet to graduate. They are spread throughout different grades, namely from preschool to grade 8. In terms of its demographics, the school's student body is made up of 41% White students, 25% Latin/Hispanic students, 18% Black students, and 16% Multicultural students. Despite how small its student body is, GICS remains a diverse school that welcomes and teaches all kinds of kids, regardless of their backgrounds.

What is Goethe International Charter School's Curriculum?

Goethe International Charter School's school curriculum follows the California Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This educational program clearly states and defines the skills and knowledge children will need and should master to someday take on higher education. Fortunately, this goes hand-in-hand with the IB World Diploma Program, which the school adopted in 2014. This world-renowned curriculum has a heavy focus on academics and is designed to ensure that students ascend to higher education. By and large, those who have graduated from IB World Schools have gone on to study in the famous Ivy League Schools, the top universities in London, and more.

Where is Goethe International Charter School in Los Angeles?

As already mentioned, Goethe International Charter School is located on Braddock Drive in Los Angeles. The area is fairly near the central districts of the city but overall, it's a largely residential part of town. Many of its surroundings include family homes and small establishments, evoking a small-town feel more akin to the countryside than the metropolis. Even the accommodations here are more affordable than the generally expensive luxury apartments of Los Angeles. All of these make the area more than suitable for any family settling down in the city.
