What's great about Cherry Valley as one of the suburbs of Los Angeles is that it's the closest thing the city has to an American Countryside town. Cherry Valley is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. It's a fair distance away from the
central neighborhoods in Los Angeles and it's a lot more rural compared to other towns on this list. Fortunately, it's also thanks to this that the prices here are much lower. From rent to utilities, almost everything is more affordable in Cherry Valley.

Culver City
Steeped in the vast history of moviemaking, Culver City is a must-see any true-blue cinephile. But for those planning to
move to Los Angeles, this place is also worth considering as your new hometown. Beyond its touristy elements, Culver City is a generally peaceful town that's more residential than urban. It still has many vibrant commercial districts here and there, but for the most part, homes and households dominate most of the area. At the very least, Culver City is considerably quieter compared to LA's city center.

Glendale
In many respects, Glendale is the quintessential suburb in Los Angeles. It's a largely residential neighborhood with several homes, top-notch schools, safe areas, and a ton of cultural attractions too. As a city, it maintains a nice balance between its quieter suburban parts and bustling urban side. Overall, this is a great place for all types of residents to settle down in near Los Angeles. Young adults can find a nice job here while families will find it peaceful enough to live a pleasant life.

Holmby Hills
Holmby Hills is the only suburb on this list that's actually in Los Angeles. Located on the western side of the city, this is another affluent area in the vein of the more famous Beverly Hills. In fact, many celebrities have lived here too, namely Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe. They, alongside those who live here now, reside in some of the most
luxurious homes in Los Angeles. Think massive mansions with private pools and grand estates with all sorts of extravagant amenities. In many ways, Holmby Hills is a more residential version of Beverly Hills.

Irvine
Irvine is such a well-planned town that you'd sooner forget that moved here because you wanted to stay close to LA. Much like many of the suburbs on this list, Irvine maintains a nice balance between a residential district and urban city, allowing people to live complete lives here. Newport Beach
If you moved to Los Angeles to live a luxurious coastal lifestyle, look no further than Newport Beach! Another of the famous LA suburbs, the area is best known for its high-end Southern California appeal, the kind you'd see on TV shows set in California. There's a beachy, glamorous vibe here that almost feels unattainable, but rest assured that all that luxury and class are all real. Pasadena
Mix some historic charm and Hollywood glamour together and you'll get Pasadena. As the 45th biggest city in California and the 9th largest in the Los Angeles county, it's no surprise that Pasadena never fails to draw in people from various parts of the country and the world. It's also a nice balance between a residential neighborhood and an urban district, but the former is more for the upper middle class instead of just the top 1%. If you're working a good-paying job with a family to raise, Pasadena is still a place for you!

Anyone who knows California knows that Santa Monica is lit! Located only 30 minutes away from Downtown LA, the city serves as another great suburb. This vibrant coastal town is perfect for California living, the type that allows you to go to the beach whenever you can, play at the famous Santa Monica Pier, and bask in the sunshine-filled glory of the West Coast. While a lot of it is residential, there's still a lot to see and do here that you'd rarely have to go to LA to have fun.

So if you're the active type, there's no place you would rather be than here!
