Established in 2022, La Scuola International School serves as the only Reggio Emilia-inspired international school in
San Francisco. It's also one of the very few International Baccalaureate (IB) and Italian language immersion schools in the world, making it even more of a prominent academic institution in the city. Its Italian origins and language make it one of the more unique international schools in San Francisco, especially since other similar schools in the city tend to be either French, German, or Chinese. There aren't a lot of Italian international schools in this city or any other big city.

La Scuola International School has multiple campuses throughout various
neighborhoods in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay area. One is its Dogpatch campus in the area of the same name, located near Downtown San Francisco and Potrero Hill. This is where preschool and primary schools are located, making it one of the smaller campuses in the city. The second campus is in the Mission district and boasts a beautiful wood-frame exterior designed by Charles Devlin.
