History of Bilborough Sixth Form College

Initially named the “Bilborough Grammar School,” Bilborough Sixth Form College first opened in 1957. It served as one of the prominent higher educational institutions in Nottingham, providing an alternative from the more famous University of Nottingham and other, more well-known institutions. In 1975, the school became a sixth-form college as a response to the city's educational system becoming more comprehensive. It was from this point in the college's history that the school grew from teaching only hundreds of students to admitting over a thousand enrollees per year. Naturally, it expanded even further over time too, establishing different academic departments through the years.

What Does Bilborough Sixth Form College Look Like?

Bilborough Sixth Form College is located in College Way in one of the quieter corners of the city. The area is not exactly far from central neighborhoods of Nottingham, but its vibe is practically a world away. Hence, the campus has lots of buildings and outdoor spaces, making it look more like a standard school in the suburbs than a university in a bit city. The campus also has several facilities beyond the standard amenities. Apart from the usual classrooms, cafeteria, and library, the college also has a photographic lab, a lecture theater, a full-on theater, spacious art studios, soundproof music rooms, and more.
