History of West Bridgford School
West Bridgford School was established in 1895 and first operated as a grammar school in
Nottingham. It was known as the West Bridgford County Secondary School and originally stood on Musters Road. In 1938, the school moved to Loughborough Road and changed its name to 'The West Bridgford Grammar School' in 1944. In 2010, the school applied to be an academy under the Academies Act 2010, eventually gaining the status at midnight on March 31, 2011. Five years later, in 2016, the school was recognized as one of the top non-selective state-funded academic institutions in England.
