History of The International School of Piraeus
The International School of Piraeus is possibly the oldest international school in
Athens. Its history dates as far back as 1922, the year Marika Petraki and Konstantinos Valsamides founded the school. It was originally called the 'M. Petraki Valsamidou Schools' and was one of the first schools specifically established to accommodate both local and international students alike. Today, the founders' granddaughters run the school, which helps maintain the core foundation of the academic institution despite the many changes it went through over the years. It's also now an IB World school, one of the very few in Athens today.
