Atlanta Montessori International School truly lives up to its status as a global academic institution. Similarly to other Montessori schools worldwide, this one focuses more on each student's individual growth and development. They go above and beyond in ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, will learn a lot, discover something new, and hopefully realize their full potential. At the same time, the school also embraces globalism, cultivating a strong sense of diversity and an understanding of differences. As such, its students graduate with a better sense of what the world is all about.

History of Atlanta Montessori International School

Atlanta Montessori International School was founded in 2004, making it one of the newer international schools in Atlanta. Before that, there were already two separate Montessori schools in the city, namely Springmont School (established in 1963) and Casa dei Bambini Montessori School (established in 1974). Though most such educational institutions only began in Atlanta in the late 20th century, Montessori schools have been around since 1907. Italian educator Maria Montessori opened the first Montessori school in 1907 in Rome. She changed the educational landscape by establishing a school that focused more on how children learn naturally.

What is Atlanta Montessori International School's Campus Like?

Montessori schools have practically taken over Atlanta! Apart from the two earlier Montessori schools, Atlanta Montessori International School also has multiple campuses throughout various neighborhoods in Atlanta. There's one on Cliff Valley Way just north of Midtown and another on S Ponce De Leon Avenue in Druid Hills. They're not the most massive campuses, but they're big enough to accommodate many students and their various needs. Apart from the usual spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and well-stocked libraries, the school's campuses also have ample outdoor spaces where students can play outside, participate in sports, and more.

The Atlanta Montessori International School Student Body

Atlanta Montessori International School surprisingly has a relatively small student body despite how prominent it is. Today, the school only welcomes a little over 230 students per year, composed of both new enrollees and those returning who have yet to graduate. They're also spread evenly throughout its different campuses, with the Cliff Valley campus having as many as 110 students per year. Fortunately, this helps Atlanta Montessori International School follow the academic institution's signature sensibility of focusing more on a child's individual growth. The ratio of students to teachers is 6:1.

What is Atlanta Montessori International School's Curriculum?

Naturally, the Atlanta Montessori International School follows the well-known Montessori program, which focuses more on how children naturally learn than establishing a rigid structure that all students have to follow. More importantly, the school still operates upon the eight basic principles of a Montessori classroom. They include Movement & Cognition, Choice, Interest, Avoidance of Extrinsic Rewards, Learning from & with Peers, Learning in Context, Respectful Teacher-Child Interaction, and Order in Environment & Mind. The school also groups its students in mixed-age classrooms, allowing children to interact with those of different age groups, further broadening their social circles and awareness.

How Much Does It Cost to Study at Atlanta Montessori International School?

As a private school, Atlanta Montessori International School is pretty pricey. Its nursery alone already costs around $18,050.00 per year for a regular day enrollment. If it's just for a half-day, it'll cost parents up to $14,350.00 instead. By kindergarten, the tuition fee increases to about $16,810.00 for regular days/ $12,550.00 for half-day enrollment per year. As the student ascends to primary school, the tuition fee goes up to $16,810.00 per year, while middle school costs as high as $17,520.00 per year. Where is Atlanta Montessori International School in Atlanta?

As already mentioned, Atlanta Montessori International School has multiple campuses throughout various neighborhoods in Atlanta. Fortunately, they're all within the Northwestern part of the city, which is near the center of Atlanta. Since these are the central districts of the city, they tend to be busy and, in turn, are far from the safest places in Georgia. Nevertheless, it's also fairly easy for families living in Atlanta to send their kids to school here. It also helps that these same neighborhoods have some of the best luxury homes to rent in Atlanta. They're big enough to accommodate big families and are undoubtedly high-quality.
