Out of all the places in the world, Milan was probably the last spot you ever thought of to have a cancer facility. Well, the city has it and it's the European Institute of Oncology. So not only does the country recognizes its importance, but the whole European continent as well. It's here where you'll have to go if you're diagnosed with any form of cancer whilst in Milan. Their way of conducting chemotherapy here is both effective and well-studied. In fact, you might even contribute to their research while you're getting treated here too!
If you or your child is in need of a vaccine, look no further than Ospedale Luigi Sacco. Set in Vialba, one of the more historic neighborhoods of Milan, it was founded by the prominent Italian physician, Luigi Sacco. continuing his work for specializing and working on vaccines, the hospital remains one of the best places to get one. Similarly, it's also one of the finer pediatric wards in the city. For years, the hospital has treated and taken care of children and developed them into full-grown healthy adults.
The Ospedale Niguarda Ca' Granda along Via Luigi Ornato is not only one of the most important hospitals in Milan, but it's also revered throughout all of Italy too. Italy’s healthcare system is 100% at work here, seeing as the place offers diverse treatments for all sorts of illnesses and ailments. They don't have a specific focus, unlike many other hospitals in the country. However, with that said, this does allow them to give equal and ample attention to the different conditions of various patients. And the quality of their healthcare doesn't diminish either!
Referred to in Italian pop culture as "Baggina," the Pio Albergo Trivulzio is actually one of the oldest facilities, not just in Milan, but also in the entire country, continent, and the world. The hospital has been operating since 1766, well into the 18th century. Today, it remains one of the most famous facilities of its kind, giving special focus to the elderly. In fact, it's even part-retirement home too. Many of the country's older folks withdraw here to ensure that they're well taken care of and that they receive the treatment they need for certain conditions.
Now, if you thought the Pio Albergo Trivulzio is old, wait until you find out when the Policlinico of Milan was founded. This revered facility in Milan first opened back in 1456, more than 600 years ago! And to this day, with that has happened in the country—in the last 200 years alone!—the hospital still operates and treats patients of all illnesses and ailments. It's also become a well-known research facility for the field of medicine. More than just taking care of you, their treatment of you might just be part of an important study that they're conducting!
Another university hospital worth noting is San Raffaele Hospital. Set in the city's Segrate area, it specializes in two different but very distinct medical field. One is the cardiovascular system. Both healthcare providers and experts treat and examine patients of whatever problems they may have with their hearts. And more often than not, any treatment they give will come out successful. Secondly, their maternity ward is also one of the finest in the city. They take good care of expecting mothers both during their pregnancies and during childbirth. Most of the time, they're also successful in delivering newborns.
The next time you visit or even stay in Milan, make sure you know these well-respected and revered hospitals. Whenever you're in need of a doctor or even an entire treatment altogether, they can and will provide that and more!
Also, when you're going to stay in Milan, it will be better if you choose an accommodation that's nearer to these places. Fortunately, a lot of Milan's luxury apartments are situated near or on the way to them!
