With over 120 chalets setting up in the Jardin des Tuileries, this is the must-visit Christmas market in Paris. You’ll find an ice rink, hundreds of shops and plenty to keep little ones entertained. Expect to pay a little more for your Christmas crafts but when the location is this good we doubt you’ll care. Snuggle up in one of the bars and enjoy a mulled wine with a side of Christmas carols.

Just across the Seine from the iconic cathedral you’ll find one of the most picturesque Christmas markets in Paris. Here you’ll be able to stock up on French wine, cheese and all the other good stuff that the Parisians are known for. This is also the place to look for high quality arts and crafts, including some homemade clothes that are the epitome of chic as you would expect from our stylish neighbours.

Head to the spare directly in front of the City Hall and you’ll discover a winter wonderland right in the heart of the city. Come hungry and enjoy the French delicacies like tartiflette which is a deliciously creamy cheese and potato bake with garlic and onions. This isn’t the biggest market on the list but we like the low-key atmosphere and find it perfect for young children.

On the esplanade at La Défense you’ll find the biggest Christmas market in Paris. With over 300 stalls and chalets you’ll be hard pushed to walk away empty handed. Located in the very modern business district, the wooden huts make a lovely contrast with the usual surroundings. There’s a bit of everything from tree decorations to jewellery for sale. Come with lots of cash and get your Christmas shopping done all in one place.

Even if you’re on holiday, there’s something magical about browsing Christmas trees in the run up to the 25th. And this is the place in Paris to do it. You’ll find Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes for sale here. You’ll also find a Santa’s grotto for the children and traditional Christmas market stalls selling everything you could want this season. Look out for the raceltte and fill up on melted cheese.

Small but perfectly formed, the Place des Abbesses Christmas Market in Montmartre is located on one of the districts most beautiful streets and a wonder around here is sure to fill you with festive cheer. Settle in with the famous vin chaud (mulled wine) and spend an evening wondering around the many shops and food places. Once your done you’re perfect places to go and enjoy one of the best views in Paris.

It’s a bit smaller than the other markets with only about 25 chalets but they specialise in quality goods like jewellery and genuine leather accessories. So this is the perfect place to find a special gift for your favourite person. Go on, treat them to something nice.
