Liberty
Liberty has to be our favourite shop in London. It’s a warren of beautiful things in a stunning Tudor building just off Regent Street. Look out for emerging designers, antiques and everything in between. Their sale starts on Boxing Day so get there early to get your pick of the best stuff. We love stocking up on Christmas cards and little gifts for the following Christmas as well as crackers and table settings.

This huge department store at the western end of Oxford Street is famous for its fashion but you’ll also find stationary, food, beauty, accessories and luggage. Shop online to avoid the crowds or head to the store and pick out all sorts of gorgeous finds. John Lewis
After the annual fever around the John Lewis Christmas ad, you would think they quieten down in the new year. But no, it’s straight from Christmas and on to the sale. The Oxford Street flagship store is the place to go for kitchenware, home accessories and clothes from reputable high street brands like Whistles and Phase Eight. John Lewis also released a new womenswear line last season called WEEKEND which is sure to be on sale.

Next
The Next sale is infamous. Mainly for the crowds that gather outside the store when it opens at the crack of dawn on Boxing Day, eager to get their hands on clothes and homeware with 50% off. 90% off their stock goes on sale and mum’s especially will love picking up clothes for babies and kids at a fraction of their usual price. Be prepared to push and shove and maybe even queue up outside, but it’s worth it. Elbows at the ready.

Westfield London
The largest inner-city shopping centre in Europe is located in West London in Shepherd’s Bush. Here you’ll find every shop you can think of, from high street chains like Topshop and Primark to high-end stores like Celine and Chanel. Expect Westfield to be extremely busy over Christmas and New Year, especially when the sales start on the 26th of December. But luckily, there plenty of restaurants and cafes for you to hide it when it all gets a bit much. There is also another Westfield at the eastern end of the central line at Stratford. Spoilt for choice!
