Bangkok is just as a city of markets as it is a city of high-rise buildings and Buddhist temples. There are so many you could visit here that going to a few will most likely take an entire day. You can start at Pak Khlong Talat in the morning, well-known market that mosly sells flowers of all kinds, from sweet-smelling favorites to the most exotic and everything in between. And at night, if it's the weekend, you can head on over to the famous Chatuchak night market to get some great bargains and delicious Thai street food!

You can also spend a solemn day of traveling to a number of Bangkok's famous temples. One after another, you'll understand why such places continue to fascinate and draw people from all over the world, even when they don't follow the Buddhist faith. A good many of them come for the beautiful sites, while others soak up the history that's in each and every one of them. Some few even actually meditate whilst in the temples, perhaps out of respect or they felt that it's the only time they'll ever be able to do it. Some highlights include Wat Pho, Wat Phew Kraew, and Wat Traimit.

You might have heard of Bangkok's Khao San Road and its notorious reputation. It can't be helped that this place is one of the more dangerous in the city. However, as long as you stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings, you'll be fine here. It'd be a shame if you miss this famous street. Durin the day, it's a lively marketplace-like area where establishments clash with street vendors in attracting customers. But by nightfall, when the neon lights start glowing, the street becomes one huge party. An energetic space for nighttime debauchery. You'd have plenty of fun here!

If New York has Fifth Avenue and Beverly Hills has Rodeo Drive, Bangkok has Siam! Well, sort of! While you might not find luxury items in this particular Bangkok district, you will shop till you drop here! And you'd want to since the prices here are completely affordable! Malls here draw many bargain-hunters and fashionistas alike, waiting to get their hands on the most stylish pieces at low costs. The most famous of which is Siam Paragon, which is sort of like a fashion mecca of contemporary brands, Thai designers, and a few hitns of luxury labels as well.

Why walk all over Bangkok when you can float instead? That is, on a boat on the city's canal. With multiple piers along the canal, you'll have ample opportunities to hire a long-tail boat and sail across the city. And while it's not exactly like that of Venice, Italy, it's still a fascinating and most probably memorable experience to have. For a whole day, you can forget all your troubles and simply float along the Thai capital, observing its ever day beauty and seeing the day-to-day life of its people. It's quite a charming thing to do, if you think about it.

The Thai cuisine restaurants are especially inviting, serving up the country's delectable dishes and delicacies for those brave enough to try them. And speaking of bravery, the ultimate test of foodie courage in Bangkok is to try the street food here. Only then would you have really tasted the flavors of the city!
