The French Riviera is synonymous with glamorous parties, even more glamorous residents and of course, the delicious food. There are a plethora of restaurants on the French Riviera that are right on the beach so to make it easy for you, we’ve picked the best. Whether you want fine dining or a beach shack, there’ll be something to suit your taste and budget.
When a restaurant boasts three Michelin stars you can pretty much guarantee that you’re going to be in for an exceptional dining experience. La Vague D’or does not disappoint. Arnaud Donckele, the head chef from Normandy uses rare ingredients that are unique to the area to create an exciting menu full of tributes to the Mediterranean. The food is 100% local, using only ingredients from the region and you can choose between a set menu and an a la carte option. The setting isn’t bad either, situated right on Plage De La Bouillabaisse.

Nestled in a secret cove, Anjuna Beach will transport you to the shores of the Indian Ocean and make you feel you’re a lot further from home than the French Riviera. The multicoloured bar and tables are made from the recycled wood of fisherman boats from the Indian Ocean and the tropical plants are reminiscent of the Balinese coast. The food focuses on generous mediterranean recipes made with fresh and local products but in our opinion you’re here for the setting more than a five star meal.

Sometimes restaurants in hotels can have a slightly sterile feel but this is not the case at Cap Estel. The stunning restaurant is situated on a two-hectare peninsula that juts out into the Mediterranean Sea and is surrounded on three sides by water. Giving you a side of magnificent panoramic views with your meal. The one Michelin star restaurant combines the freshness of seasonal produce with fine scents from the Mediterranean, showcasing local produce directly harvested from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

With the beach below and Porquerolles island on the horizon, Le Pradeau Plage provides a gorgeous setting for diners. Fish and seafood is naturally the star of the show here with locally caught scallops, prawns and sea bass all on the menu. If you prefer something a little heartier, opt for the steak as you drink in the views.

Not many restaurants can boast a 180 degrees sea view, but La Reserve Gayrard certainly can. They also boast a delicious seasonal menu featuring local seafood and an enticing wine list full of local favourites. Located in Les Issambres, it is number one on TripAdvisor in the area so it might be wise to book ahead as it’s no secret that this is a top-class restaurant.
