Description
When contemporary design meets ultimate comfort and fabulous art at a stunning location on the brink of the Adriatic Sea, Villa Mare tops the list. Only ten minutes from the venerated but bustling Dubrovnik Old Town, the villa’s elite neighborhood of Lozica translates to tranquility, privacy and pleasure. With Dubrovnik pulsating at an arm’s reach, you’ll sip champagne enveloped in serene vistas breaking from the edge of the infinity pool. Yet, you’re central, close also to the Elaphites, Mljet, Korčula, and Pelješac and you can come and go by car or by yacht, as you please. Mare astounds at first glance.
Thanks to oversized windows and a refined use of white, its 500 m2 of interiors enjoy plenty of daylight, as well as splendid views of Daksa Island, tiny Grebeni rocks, and the turquoise Adriatic Sea. From Swarovski chandeliers and Persian rugs, to art and sculpture of great 20th century names, each detail here was carefully selected to create a sophisticated, yet homey atmosphere. Travertino Navona marble flooring extends throughout common areas, complimenting warm summer days with the cool of its surface. Croatian oak floors infuse the bedrooms with a touch of warmth, while the bathrooms also shine in marble, and some in the unique kinds, like Travertino Giallo Unique, sourced from an altitude of 4.000 meters in South America.
A Walkthrough Villa Mare:
As you descend from the parking, you will enter an elegant foyer, the central point of an airy, open-concept space spreading over two levels and centered on a marble staircase. Elevated a few steps from the foyer, an office with a view make work feel better than ever. Healthy living is just next door, where a modernly equipped fitness room allows you to upkeep your daily routines.
The lower level is an open-flow space comprised of a chic living room with a 60’’ TV and a state-of-the-art Arial kitchen with a custom-made table for twelve. Wondrously equipped, there’s no doubt this kitchen will see many Adriatic delights like oysters, fresh fish, and lobster prepared for you and served either inside, or on the adjacent shaded terrace with an al fresco dining table for twelve.
Straight out of the living room, expansive terraces with B&B Italia furniture lure you into taking a relaxed moment to flip through the daily press over an espresso. That’s before or after taking a dip in the infinity pool!
There are 5 double bedrooms in the villa, sleeping ten guests, while two more can be accommodated on the pull-out sofa. Three bedrooms are positioned on the west side, and two separate guest units on the east, secluded and perfect for older kids, friends or staff.
The master bedroom of Mare stuns! You’ll be sleeping underneath a series of works of one of the greatest European artists, but despite the sleek décor of the sleeping area, the true highlight here is the bathroom. Its floors are lined with Onyx Verde Pakistan, and walls with Jade Onyx and the roomy massage tub by the front window truly adds to the impression.
Mornings are just unforgettable when you relax in the Jacuzzi while watching dolphins play in the sea outside your window!
The spacious and elegant deluxe room next door also enjoys this privileged view from its Jacuzzi, while the deluxe room on the lower level marvels at the sights from either of its two terraces – the shaded or the sunny.
The bedrooms on the Villa’s east side are spacious, with subtle décor in neutral colors, accentuated by bright pieces of art. Each room has its own shower bathroom. One room is leveled with the living room and kitchen, while the other one relishes the views from the highest point of the villa, just above the fitness room.
As everything else, sunbathing and swimming are also a special experience here at Mare. Descend the stone staircase all the way to the sea and the stone-lined pier, as roomy as a terrace. Like your own slice of the Adriatic shore, the pier is dotted with lounge chairs but surrounded by rocks – the truly local way of enjoying the beach.
Because at Mare, the horizon is the only limit.
